Just 5 minutes until the Bells ring in the New Year in London ...watch it live here

London fireworks 2025 LIVE: Watch the U.K. ring in the new year
Good Lord, Holly!! What a phenomenal and breathtaking fireworks display that was. I'm stunned at the complexity and variety of the composition. The City of London must have paid millions for that! Wow!!

I'd just been wondering if London did anything like the ball drop in NYC, since we're here in central U.S. time, and we never stay up for midnight. So I was looking for something fascinating. Didn't see that one coming. Thanks very much for the link, and wishing you a wonderful 2025!!

Thank you , very pleased you enjoyed it. We do seem to excel in the firework displays every year in London.. and yes it does cost Milliions but then it brings in Millions of tourists... :DšŸ’„

1.40am now..everything locally is quiet..we heard very few local Fireworks, most unusual.. but I suspect it was due to the high winds.. they may let them off tomorrow night instead...

I have a cuppa tea, and a plate of crackers and camembert

WOW! That's by far the most spectacular fireworks display I've ever seen. It must have been mind-blowing in person. Thanks so much for sharing the link. Simply amazing.

What celebrations do you have in LA, @StarSong?
Fireworks aren't a good idea here because we haven't had rain to speak of since last April (and none in the upcoming 14 day forecast). LA is largely a daytime city, unlike NY. Our big celebration is the Rose Parade early New Year's Day.

Some people go out to dinner, or to bars. Remember, you pretty much have to drive everywhere here - and Uber/taxis charge extreme premiums on nights like this. I suppose some folks have parties, but not like in years past. Baby Boomers were the last generation to throw big parties, and very few of us continue to do so.
