Hard to believe August is gone already

337840-Snoopy-Goodbye-August-Image.jpg.....August did go by fast for me too...heading towards cooler weather and closer to being out of hurricane season.

Now that I no longer live in a beach area, I'm not as disappointed in it's passing, but, I am glad it appears the weather will still be quite hot when I head out for my beach trip.

Oh yes it's really shot by this year, but can't complain it's been a wonderful hot summer . Soon tho' we'll get the changing colours of autumn and I love that time of year, I get my best photos then

My grandmother always told me the older you get the faster time seems to go. I am looking forward to autumn though. Hopefully it won't be one of those years where we go from summer straight into winter.

That's what my parents used to tell me. At the time, I didn't believe them but I do now.

Oh yes I think all our parents or grandparents probably told us that. I remember thinking..what??... 60 years is a short time?... OMG these people are mad, 60 years is an eternity

Well we all know now, that it's absolutely not. Only the first 21 years goes slowly.. from then on it speeds up until you get to middle age ..and then it's takes off with no brakes to slow you down... :drive:

I'll be sorry to see summer go. I always am. In a couple of months I'll be freezing to death for the next 5 months.

I'm ready for a taste of fall!

August wasn't much fun this year with all the smoke and ash from the fires. Lately the air quality has very much improved and I finally saw some stars in the early morning sky. So, beings this is Labor day weekend and I've been spending a lot of my time indoors. Think I'll sneak out in the back yard and have a little barbeque.. :p

Happy Labor Day!!

EDITED TO ADD - Buckeyes win 77-31. Go Bucks

It's been very mild here this summer (only about 3 days over 100 degrees). Trees are already starting to turn colors. I don't know if that's because they are confused because it's been much cooler or if that means we are going to have an early, long, very nasty winter. I'm hoping they are just confused.

I will not be sorry to see this summer over. Just got back from a visit to upstate NY, and one day when we drove into Montreal, it was about 95 with high humidity. The next day, Vermont was nearly as bad. This summer has been excruciating up and down the east coast.

Heading for the cottage in Maine next week. The colors are usually great in northern New England and we'll still get to see and hear the loons before they head south.

Glad to see August and summer leaving, been too hot and smoky even here in Colorado. Like you Dave, we'll be headed to the higher elevations to do some camping next week, that's a drop in temperature and since there's been such dry conditions, the fall leaves should be eye candy for us. :D I know the years fly by much more quickly now that we're older, that part I'm not too keen on. :eek:ld:

Our Sept. here is usually another summer month except that the wasps are worst. It has been a good summer and I do look forward to fall. There are predictions (Old Farmers Almanac) that it is going to be a cold, wet winter so we shall see.
