Has anyone experienced "telephone telepathy"?

Have you ever been thinking about someone, and they all of a sudden call?

Have you ever phoned someone, and they said they were just about to call you?

The majority of the population has experienced telephone telepathy. Here is an excellent article relating experiments to prove that it is a real phenomena:

Proof Telephone Telepathy IS Real

Yes. My mom and I had it. I'd call her and she'd pick up the phone right away, and vice versa. She could hear me say "Mom!" in her head, and I could hear her say my name the same way. From the day I moved out, we had that advantage. Of course neither of us knew that we were communicating with the other until the phone rang.

Yes! So glad to know this is a real thing! It doesn't happen often, but sometimes when the phone rings, I know who it is before I answer even if it's someone who doesn't call regularly. There are so many ways we're connected that science can't yet explain.

It makes sense. When you are planning to call, you think of the person and your minds connect. That is not the same as reading someone's thoughts, which is obviously intrusive.

My mom and I had that telepathy. I thought a lot about her and my mom would call.

I'm typically a non beliver in telepathy or paranormal type things but I once had an experience I've never been able to logically explain.

Many years ago when I was still married I woke from sleeping and sat up in bed, just sat there leaning back on the headboard. My wife woke and asked what I was doing and I told her I was waiting for the phone to ring. Sure enough in a bit the phone rang and it was my mother-in-law letting us know father-in-law was being rushed to the emergency room. Turns out he had a near fatal heart attack.

I always search for logical explanations but that event I've never been able to explain away.

Well, I think you experienced "telephone telepathy".

What part of Ohio do you live? I was born in Athens, spent several years in Cincinnati, and still have many relations in the Columbus area. Great state!

I'm an hour south of Cleveland. You're right, Ohio is a great state, offers about everything a person could want except year round warm weather! šŸ˜

I don't have telepathy for phone calls but I did wake up from a sound sleep at the exact time my grandfather died and at the exact time my brother died. Both of them died when I was much younger and I always slept through the night. I can't explain it. Those two times are the only times it has happened. I was close to them both.

My mum told me she had the same experience when her mum died in hospital of cancer in January 1940. She said she was fast asleep at home when suddenly she sat up in bed and said "She's Gone!" even though there was no-one else with her. She said it happened at almost exactly 1am because she looked at the clock on her bedside table after she woke up.

I didn't get the same kind of connection in 2005 when my mum died though, sadly! We found out a couple of days after she'd gone when we got a phone call from the Police in Bristol (where my mum lived). It seems she died sometime between Thursday night and Sunday morning, and the cop called us on Sunday afternoon. A concerned neighbour had called the Police when they noticed the curtains on her windows hadn't been opened since Thursday morning. The Police broke in and found her dead. She was 85, so I suppose it was to be expected, but she wasn't ill, and I'd spoken to her on the phone only the week before.
