Has anyone not had covid as far as you know?

Neither my wife nor I had had it . . . until three days ago when I tested positive. I started immediately on Paxlovid and isolated to two rooms of the house. My only potential exposures during the previous week were on Friday when I met a friend for breakfast at a small restaurant and then made a quick stop at the hardware store.

So far, my wife and my friend are still covid-free.

My late mother had it. I think my brother had it. I've not had the virus myself, probably because I'm not around other people much. I've had vaccinations and did have a booster but so long ago now that they've likely worn off. Have never had vax for winter flu, or for pneumonia (although doc did suggest it once). Health is always a bit of a gamble, I guess

So you tested positive but don't have covid? Or are you symptom free? This happened to a family member of mine.
 
I've never had covid, as far as I know. It's been over 30 years since I've had any kind of virus.

My mom died of covid in '21 while living in a nursing home. Everyone in the place was vaccinated, but covid was already going around by the time the vaccines got there. Plus this place had a relatively small intensive care unit, which was already nearly full when the residents started getting sick, so isolation was a big issue.

My son's wife had a severe case of covid that same year, and then he had it for a few days, and then they got vaccinated. Then she came down with it again in '22 but it wasn't as bad. Fortunately, their kids didn't get it.

I've never gotten the flu vaccine, but from 2018 to 2022, I was a licensed foster parent for CPS, and they urged all their foster parents to get the covid vaccine (urged but not required). So I got the series of 2 vaccines in 2021, and then a booster in '22.

None since, though.

No, unfortunately the virus finally caught up to me this past Monday. It also hit my wife this morning :(. At this point my symptoms are mostly like those of a bad cold, and I've improved since yesterday so I do think the anti-viral meds may be helping.

I don't think i have had it...never tested for it-did have bronchitis one winter but no symptoms of COVID I am old and have asthma ...and no shots ...however I take a load of supplements most strongly rumored to ward off covid and I am a type o blood- I continue to take the supplements and avoid folks who might be carriers.....as much as I can-

MY daughter hasn't had it ( touch wood)... she's never been vaccinated, and she goes out to work every day... she's a conspiracy theorist and doesn't believe in the vaccination at all.. just the opposite, she feels that the vax will do more harm than good..

She wears masks wherever she needs to and uses hand gel but that's all..but that said.. I did the same..used hand gel, wore masks.. and in my case I never went out.. but I still got it..

I have an appointment at Walgreen's tomorrow. Will find out if it is Covid or something else. ( I went in today because they told me on the phone no appointment necessary. Come on in. Then when I got there I was told that an on-line appointment is required!) If I test positive the doc will call in a prescription. If negative I will see him on Friday. The cardiologist I saw yesterday said RSV is picking up among adults in this area but Walgreen's doesn't test for it. I thought my distress might be a side affect of my new heart medicine. We shall see. No previous Covid, but 5 shots.
 
I got the original 2 Pfizer doses, then the 1st and 2nd boosters. Never got it as far as I know.

Nobody has worn masks around here in ages aside from the oddball here and there who I assume took a test and failed it. When I go to my doctors in a major medical facility within a hospital complex they no longer require masks for entry and seeing one even there is very rare.

Even before that my cardiologist took his mask off in the room and asked me to as well. He felt that proper communication is far more important than the very dubious benefit of wearing paper masks.

I've asked about additional boosters and my doctors shrug and go "Meh."
