Yes both. the Statue of Liberty many times.
You may be not remembering your visit to the torch in 1941 correctly.
The arm was damaged in 1914 and not repaired until 1984.
Even after the repair the torch was never open to the public

I've been to both as well. One time to the statue was for an 8th grade school trip. Late 50's. We all were very excited about it. We finally arrived and for some reason we weren't allowed to go up so we just stood around the base looking up. A very unhappy bunch of kids that day.

Have been to both. Went into the Empire state building, but never made it past sitting on the shore admiring Lady Liberty
