Have you ever met a fellow SF member in person?

If so, for what purpose, and, how’d it go? If you haven’t, would you do it?

I have not, but I believe @hollydolly and others have.

Sure, if it make sense in time and place. Why not?
I certainly have... I've met many people both here and abroad, .. very few are what I was expecting them to be.. for good and for not so good... met one fairly well known celebrity couple ( retired ) who immediately adopted me as their surrogate daughter... :D

Not on this forum, partly due to people living so far apart from each other. But I have met people from other forums I have belonged to. One group had an annual get-together near my house, and we hosted several of them when they came. One couple on that forum met on the forum
(it was not a "dating" forum, it was a TV fan club), and eventually got married.

Some people turned out much nicer than I expected; others turned out to be kind of boring. One guy was out and out weird. Typical of any group of people, I guess.

Not from SF
Met a gal from another site
It was a site about living off grid
She visited us when we were living at our cabin in the mountains

Educated her on what's involved with it all

Saved her a lot of money

She opted to buy a place in town

'Gary and xxxxxx are wise and wonderful souls dedicated to inspired living. That will never change and there will always be adventures and stories to tell!

Town may be town but, this being rural Oregon, we're not removed from the natural world. I've got forests just blocks away and deer walking down the street all of the time, lol. Oh, and the views! An interesting juxtaposition.

There's a lot to be said for flush toilets, electricity without working for it, and medical care a mile away. And not having in the back of your mind if this might be the day or event when the dream turns into a potentially fatal nightmare.

A toast to Gary and xxxxx, for all they built, shared, inspired; the advice, help, and friendship they generously gave

It was a blast! Always such fun with you two! Lots of laughter, and great advice, too!'

She was diagnosed with a rare cancer
Sold her mountain property, bought a place in town, quite near the hospital.

I have met a few members "virtually" during a Zoom Coffee Klatch for SF members. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing their faces and hearing about their backgrounds and their current lives. That includes @Medusa, @palides2021, @Alligatorob and a former member who lives in Ecuador. There are so many accomplished, knowledgeable and interesting people in this forum. I would absolutely love to meet other members in persons.

I haven't. Would I? Probably not but that's my personal issues.

I'm in California and I don't want to reveal where. I don't want to ask anyone on this forum who identifies as being in California, exactly where they are. But sometimes I wonder if they are near me.

But would you?

Or if you thought I (or someone else here) was on the way would you run in fear?
First of all, I would not run in fear; I'd have police surrounding our home. lol

Seriously, I don't think I could meet any peeps I met on-line. One doesn't really get to know the other beforehand. In social media.... people can be anything they want to be and it is difficult to trust. That's just me. I don't hate, I just enjoy being part of this forum. Hope I make sense.
