Have you had your handwriting examined by an expert?

Twenty five years ago I attended a formal dinner at a hotel, where the speaker was a graphologist, someone who the police and others turn to when they want to know about the handwriting of a suspect, or to assist them following a line of investigation, where a handwritten note (anonymous threatening letter or whatever), is part of the evidence they have.

A few of us "on the top table" sent examples of our handwriting to Donna, the lady graphologist, and the two pages I sent were just basically a spoof letter I made up for the purpose. However, it didn't matter at all what the letter might have said, it was the spacings of the lines, the side your handwriting leant towards and so on, that she used to assess your character. I was fairly pleased with her assessment of my good character, (I dont think she held anything back?? ).

Has anyone else had their handwriting examined in this way? :unsure:.
 

Back in the 80's I took a "for fun' class in graphology at a community college. As part of the class, the instructor analyzed our scribbles. She was adamant that she was practicing real science but I felt there was a lot of snake oil involved. Met a really nice woman in the class though.
 

There is a real problem with "graphology". It's the same with phrenology- the "science" of reading bumps on the head to determine personality. What is the mechanism , which causes changes in writing to mimic changes in personality. You can say criminals write with this kind of loop, but what causes criminals to write with that loop- that's where this "science" breaks down. It's pretty much the same a tarot card reading there's no mechanism to account for the results. How do the tarot cards 'know' how to arrange themselves in a deck?

I never had it done to me, but I have seen Graphologists work in correlation with a Forensic Document Examiner and/or a Profiler. It's amazing how these people can be so near to being accurate by just looking at a handwriting sample. The Profiler is the person that always amazed me by only studying the crime scene and the type of crime that was perpetrated and give a description of the person or at the bare minimum be able to give us some of the perpetrator's personal history and/or background.
 
I remember the graphologist explaining an aspect of her work focussing simply upon the signature of an individual, and she said the signature of a notorious serial killer in the UK, (Nielsen I think it was).

Apparently it is unbelievably rare to put a full stop at the end of your signature, millions to one, that kind of rarity. She didn't have any dealings with Nielsen, but because of her work she knew he had that particular trait.

I know people often think its a pseudo science etc., but Donna said everything any of us do up until we pick up a pen to write will be shown in our handwriting, (obviously if you know what to look for), and I can believe this would be the case.
 
I have books on graphology. It's quite fascinating! My letter from the White House had Donald Trump's signature ( about the economic Impact payment) and his handwriting is POWERFUL, DYNAMIC! Shows honesty and straight forwardness. IMPRESSIVE!
You REALLY CAN tell a lot about a person from their handwriting!

I've found this for you, (so both it appears):
"Graphology is the study of human personality through writing. Is a projective personality test, that let you know temperament, genetic factors that lead our behaviours, biological basis, character. "

Honestly can't remember what was said about physical or mental difficulties, such as strokes and how this affects the signs the graphologists pick up on, but you've given me an idea, thanks, (?).

Very easy to find info on graphology though, and if I can I'll come back with the full link I found. :) .

Too late, they've already invaded us, and yet thank goodness they're such workers, and my mate has married a girl from Krakow.

You'd have liked to read Donna the graphologists views of my good side said about you though, I'm obviously very glad to say. I can live now in the knowledge at least one person saw my good side, (my mum especially, and dad saw good things they liked too, and my father spoke of it in an unsolicited letter to his account act, I only discovered after his death).

Okay, "back to causing mayhem!". .:rolleyes:🥳
