Have you noticed your taste in food, even ideas have changed over the years?

Years ago, I was a meat and potatoes guy. Yesterday, I stuck a dinner in the microwave. I was really happy that it had lots of veggies. When did I start liking veggies? When did that happen? Then on the BBC channel, on those animal shows, they show a fury gawompy or something. You watch it having kids in its nest. Then you watch it get eaten by a wolf. The wolf is ripping it apart. I really can't stand watching that. When did that start happening? When did I get all touchy, feelly about a gawompy? I've somehow changed. When did that happen? Have you noticed you've changed too?

Not so much changed taste as changed tolerance.

Some foods I love now upset my stomach.

I can no longer eat mushrooms, and only very small quantities of cream.

As I've gotten older I've lost some of my blood lust and developed a more live and let live attitude with everything from what's on my plate to what's happening in the world.

All the older generation has changed in my family mainly when it comes to desserts.. Some because of diet restrictions such as myself but beside that I remember making gooey layer cakes with butter cream icing, brownies with chocolate icing and gobs of whipped cream on just about everything. Now It seems they prefer a good coffee cake, maybe cinnamon buns or angel cake or pound cake with some fruit or a bit of ice cream. Many still love pie though.

Yes. The more foods I try, the more I like and add to my regular diet. The more I travel and interact with different people, the more open-minded and liberal I become.

I am like Laurie, in some cases my tolerance has changed. I find that I cannot eat rich or creamy foods without stomach upset. Even ice cream sometimes bothers me. And, because we do not eat it often, when we have the occasional steak, roast or burger, it tends to bother me. Depending on degree of upset, I will sometimes still eat the food...just in extreme moderation. Though I pretty much have had to give up the stuff with cheese or cream sauces.

Not much has changed in my diet except I choose to eat less meat and eat more vegetables. I love spicy foods and can still eat them. As for my cultural and social views, they have gradually changed quite a bit over the years. I have become less conservative and much more liberal - pretty much adopting a "live and let live" philosophy

"all touch feely about a gawompy"...that made me laugh.

I've changed to be a more positive person but no one would know that over in the Politics forum where I spend far too much time arguing:rolleyes: My daughter is a peacemaker by nature and can't handle even the slightest negativity. She lives near me so I see her often. I absolutely cannot be negative around her so I've gotten a lot of practice "looking on the bright side" and sharing a lot of laughter and good times with her.

She always makes me feel good about myself and I find that spilling over from me to others per her example. I complimented her recently on her positive nature and how she has influenced me and she said "It's because when I was very young I can remember you saying, 'you're the peacemaker in the family' and I always wanted to live up to that". Well hallelujah, I did something right :D

An interesting question. I have noticed that I seem to have lost a few taste buds and need a bit more flavor. But, I still have the same reaction to "hot" food. Anything "hotter" than mild salsa is outa heah!!

BTW - cauliflower is still on my plate - with lotsa cheese sauce.

I've started liking "hot" foods better than I used to!

Some tastes are acquired. All my life I've hated mustard, but find that I'm liking it now, at least on hot dogs. And I've never liked tea much, but am starting to like it better now, with all the
various flavors. I've also discovered that I like it a lot better with milk in it (British style), something I never tried until I visited England a few years ago.

I'm not a veggie lover, but force myself, since I know they're good for you. Some I just can't stand, like cauliflower and brussels sprouts. I do like eggplant parmesian, which I guess counts as a vegetable.
