Have you seen many performers in person

I remember seeing Jane Powell in Kings Cross Sydney many years ago. I remember her lovely blue eyes. Also ran into the 2 Ronnies (Ronny Corbett and Ronny Barker) 2 famous English comedians when they were appearing at the Regent Theatre in Sydney. They had 2 parking spots in the side lane with Mr. Head and Mr. Tail written on a sign. Saw Robert Goulet appearing in the Silver Spade Room in Kings Cross. In the early 60's I saw Lloyd Price at the Sydney Stadium, he used to sing She's Got Personality and many more songs that I can't remember, Fabian was on the programme as well.

Someone else posted a similar thread a few months ago. I actually wondered this to myself over a year ago and compiled the list below in my Google Docs. Part of the reason I've been able to see so many acts is because the Apollo Theater in Harlem, N.Y. had review shows with several artists and I went to the Apollo a couple of times. I also saw a few artists, including Lionel Hampton and George Benson at the Beacon Theater in N.Y.

Oh yes...I have met and partied with many big names in the UK and visiting celebrities. Mainly because I was in a Media position at the BBC and my Father was on the Board.
However, let me tell you, nothing impressive about that.
What impresses me is those who shy away from the publicity and usually, they are the ones with the most talent.

Ritchie Havens, ShaNaNa, Edgar and Johnny Winter, Carly Simon, Hall and Oats, Steve Martin, Sting when he was with The Police, Angela Lansbury, Barbara Eden, Jane Fonda, Warren Beatty, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Talking Heads, Kevin Spacey

Saw Donny Osmond on a plane once, does that count?

Actually I was struck by how normal he seemed, a nice guy so far as I could tell.
I saw him in a restaurant. The waiter pointed him out and said he ate there almost every night. He was in a booth and his body guard was eating his dinner in a small table nearby. Donny was with someone else so it wasn’t like he was being rude to the guard.

Just remembered another one, OJ Simpson.

I used to travel a lot for business and learned that I am not good at recognizing the famous in airports and the like. I was sitting at the bar having a beer in the Panama City, Florida airport. The guy next to me was a black man, we had a few small talk words, he was friendly. When he got up and left the barmaid came up to me and asked if I knew that was OJ, I didn't. But then when I saw him a bit later at a gate I realized she was right.

A few months later OJ's notoriety increased substantially after that incident with his ex-wife... I saw on the news that he had a girl friend in Panama City, guess that was why he was there.

I lived in Southern California many years and my ex of that era was a talent agent and had worked for one of the studios. It’s so many I can’t remember or list. I did do some extra movie work and was a stand-in for Sam Shepard on a film. They needed a six foot tall lanky guy and I fit the bill. IRL he had a dry sense of humor and liked to play cards. Sad to learn he had passed.

Many over the years, in several different locations, but none in recent years.

Enjoyed big names in Las Vegas shows the most .. and favorite of all time had to be seeing Elvis perform live.

Mrs. L took me to see Van Morrison as a birthday present. There was more atmosphere on the moon! However, his supporting act was Lonny Donegan who was a fantastic entertainer. Seen quite a few of the older acts - Emmerson, Lake & Palmer, John Mayall & the Blues breakers, Marmalade, 10cc, Caravan and a few others.

I saw Charley Pride, Johnny Cash, Mack Davis, Hank Williams, Jr., Willie Nelson all at the Houston, livestock & Rodeo, back in the 1970‘s
with my mom and dad 😊

In 1988, my best friend/cousin, bought me front row seats to Shirley McClain Live. She danced and sang and told stories, it was wonderful!!

A few that spring to mind...

Motorhead (Three times)
Clutch
System of A Down
Velvet Revolver
Korn (Twice)
Status Quo
Camel
Slade
Lionel Richie
Avril Levigne
Saxon
Chris Rea
Gordon Goodwin
Jools Holland

Dottie West
Hank Williams Jr.
Hank Snow
Buck Owens and the Buckeroos
