Have your own style?

Akubra make some fabulous hats, I have a couple, they do get complimented.
Here's a few snaps of that wedding dress whilst a work in progress:

For the bodice section she made what's called a toile.
A mock up of what it will look like. Did the bride want it pleated.

Or did she prefer it plain? Given that the front is all pleats she chose plain.

This is how the front will appear, each pleat is individually made.

Coming together with the skirt section, those box pleats took forever to create.

An early fitting, at this stage there was quite a lot left to do, but the dress
was finished about ten days before the ceremony.
Wow! That's all I can say, Horseless.

I don't get out much anymore. But when I do I wear some pants that have pockets. I put my drivers license, Medicare card, keys and one credit card. It depends where I am going as to which ones I carry. Makes it easy. Don't have to carry a purse anymore. Grocery store does not require Medicare card, doctor's office does so I take what I need and nothing more. Kleenex is in the car if needed.

I am very low maintenance these days.....levis, a blouse or sweater, or even an over sized sweatshirt, flats. Anything, as long as it's comfortable. I don't even wear make-up anymore. Only for a lunch date or dinner for my birthday. When I started taking care of my parents in 2003, I stopped wearing make-up.

Gone are the days of LBD, heels, curling my hair.etc. And, I'm very happy about that!

You know, Dana, I don't like butting heads with anybody, but your post really hit a nerve with me this morning.

From day one you showed up here with an axe you were seemingly looking to grind, and you've made a number of enemies along the way (already in your short stay), but to show up on a thread topic where members found the comfort to put forth their styles and fashions, only to put someone else's choice of fashion down, doesn't (at all) speak of class.

Why do that? What are you looking to achieve by your words?

How disgraceful the manner in which you treated, Horseless.

Amen, @Aunt Marg

I wore a leather backpack as long as I could before it looked "weird" because of my age. (giggle)
Exactly me! For decades I wore no purse since I didn’t go out enough but I did have some nice backpacks.

Designer purses are completely wasted on me as are most designer stuff. There are however brands I might prefer in shoes and clothes due to the material they are made from.

I have never gone with designer purses, just simple hobo bags with adjustable strap to allow for wear over ones shoulder.

Stylish, practical, utilitarian, casual.

Yep! Functional and practical. I usually have one nice leather purse that I use once in a while but prefer those small carrying purses that are small and cute. I’m not fond of those huge purses that look like luggage carry on bags. šŸ˜Lol

It’s worth it (too a reasonable point) to pay for quality.

I don’t want to see a name on any purse or clothing.

@Aunt Marg Amazon has a large selection of that style tunics for well under $50 (I love tunics too)

just search for ā€œcowl necked tunicā€ and you’ll get many pages of selections

This is my type of top. I love longish tunic tops with either leggings or capris. I used to be a jeans lover but leggings are ultra comfy and this look is so cute. ā™„ļøšŸ‘

Jeans, tshirt or a shirt or both. Depending on the time of year. Comfort and wear are most important to me. Boots on my feet most of the time, some really comfortable hide slippers. I owned a suit once, wore it to funerals or weddings.
That is me and I like it that way....:)
Boots eh, boots are not my preferred mode of footwear, but when I saw these, I made an exception. "Where did you get those boots?" is something that I have heard time and again:

I'm super casual most of the time but I'll wear neatly ironed slacks and a shirt with actual buttons when I want to look snazzy, and I do have a couple of suits and 3 very special ties. Special because there's one from each of my kids.

Otherwise it's sweatpants and a long sleeved t-shirt or pull-over sweater in winter, and baseball shorts and a t-shirt in summer.
