"He knows his ABCs & numbers. He's three."

I'm 73. And, at times, I really feel that I was born in the last century. My friend said that her son was enrolled in "pre- school". "He knows his ABC's & numbers. He's three." When I was a kid, I met my ABCs when I was in the first grade. We didn't even have Sesame Street, then. There was no "pre-school". My friend says her son loves "pre-school". I don't think, at age three, pre-school is some form of torture, but it seems to be a benchmark on how much the world has changed. How much education is needed for the future.

And the fact so many moms work these days. Our great grand baby, at 2 yrs old, taught me how to skip an ad on you tube! Get otta here already.

It amazes me the things that children know today, that we didn't learn about until we were older. I can't believe how easy it is for them to use devices like cell phones and computers. Amazing !

Everybody I know (including me) turns to their children, or even better, their grandchildren, for help with devices such as cell phones. It seems the younger they are, the better they are at it. Even my son, in his 50's, turns to HIS son for help.
