The morgue was a popular place to take your prom date, at one time. Unidentified bodies were on display in glass cases for identification. Sounds gruesome I know, but it was a fun date.

Near my secondary school was an undertaker's workshop where the coffins were made, the door was usually open. A friend and I used to dare each other to run in and touch a coffin! We did this several times until one day I discovered the coffin I touched had a body inside! I was about twelve, and had never seen a dead body before, or even been to a funeral. We stopped playing that game there and then!
