Healing with non touching hands

Just now watched the French film, Antoinette in the Cevennes and near the end of the film Antoinette sprains her ankle. A woman came along on horseback and got down and placed her hands either side of the ankle, without touching, and slowly moved her hands a little way up and down the ankle. This healed the ankle and Antoinette was able to walk the next morning pain free.

This reminded me of an incident about 15 years ago when I was helping a friend build an extension onto his home.
I hit my thumb rather hard with a hammer and was in a fair amount of pain. My friend was married to a Chinese lady and he took me to his wife and she placed her hands over my hand, without touching, and I could feel the heat of the pain being drawn out.
After about 1 minute I was pain free and was able to go back to work unhindered.
Can someone tell me was this "Gift" is ?

Maybe it has something to do with the mind. If the patient believes it will work, it does work.

It's quite simple. We all have energy in our bodies, which can be summoned at any time. Concentrate that energy in your hands, place them near the affected body part and then project the energy into it. Everyone is capable of healing...there's no magic about it.

I know I have lots of energy in my body.
Every time I watched "The Big Valley," I tried to summon it to get Linda Evans, but it just didn't work.
 
I have this gift Bretrick, placing my hands each side
of the sore area for a short time. takes the pain away
and it stays away for several days, in some cases.

Holding one of the "Patient's" hands, with my left hand
and holding my right hand near the painful area, also
works.

@Bretrick I would say that definitely is a gift of some sort.

So many men fancied her that your projections would have simply been swallowed up by those of all the other men. However, she would have been aware of it on a subconscious level.
The power of the mind really is an untouched resource.
 
When I was a Spiritual Aide volunteer at the local hospital, the Chaplain there gave me "The Art of Being a Healing Presence" A Guide for those in Caring Relationships" by James E. Miller with Susan C. Cutshall.

A healing presence shares positive energy to people weakened by poor health or illness.

Then, there are energy vampires who suck the energy out of you by their mere presence. It is best to avoid these types of people because you are the positive light and they exist only to draw energy from you.

As other have mentioned this is Reiki energy healing, and is dependent on the recipient's believing.
There are accounts in the Bible of Jesus using a healing technique that strongly resembles this.
Like Dark Matter and Dark Energy, energy healing has some telltale signs of existence, but not as of yet verifiable by scientific methods.
In Traditional Chinese medicine the Qi is in the same realm, as is the human soul or spirit.

How did you acquire this ability?
Did you come across it by accident or did you take active steps to nurture this trait in you?
Do you need to refresh/update for to it remain within you?
I find this fascinating.

My experience was real. It did happen as I described it.
Sure, I am sceptical with a lot of this so called "Hocus Pocus" but when one is a recipient of this "ability" then how can I be a non believer?

I didn't train for it, I just had, but didn't know it.

During a holiday in Canada, in 1989, I rented a lakeside cottage,
on Lake Ontario, the owner of the campsite did healing of aches
and pains, this gave me the idea to try it, you need to have a
willing guinea pig, any other kind are sceptical and cause quite a
lot of embarrassment.

My brother had a frozen shoulder, I said stand still and I will try
my healing hands, I put one hand at the front and the other at
the back of the sore shoulder, about 4" away in each hand, as I
did this, he jumped away, saying "stop that, whatever you are doing
it is hot and you are burning me", he wouldn't let me near him after
that experience, but he did call me the following day to tell me that
his shoulder was fine, he never got the pain back.

There are many other cases, but I won't bore you, suffice to say that
I have no idea how or why it works, but it does, it also works if I tell
someone who is ill that I send them some healing, they too, tell me
that the pain or whatever the problem is has gone.

These things are just small problems, I don't know if I have ever fixed
anything big, if I have, it was by accident, as I never tried big problems.

I don't practice or train at any time, only on actual people.

Then what you have is truly a gift.
It would not be wise to tell all and sundry because then you would have a slew of people coming to you because of your "Healing Hands"?
 
I know the topic is "non-touching" hands .. however ..

I used to lay my hands on my daughter's tummy when she had a tummy ache. It seemed to take away the pain. I've also done the same when I had bad menstrual cramps. I never liked taking pain meds for it.
