Welcome, old salt. In my traveling days I spent a lot of time in the Canadian Maritimes. One of my favorite places in North America. Drove the Gaspe Peninsula several times.

I am an 83 year old widower who is getting tired of having no contact with the outside world. The usenet was always my life line and I made many friends there over the years. I started way back with alt.forty-plus-friends, then moved on to alt.fiftyplus and when I passed that bench mark on to alt.sitxtyplus. With the advent of MySpace and Facebook I lost interest because the format didn't appeal to me. Sadly the subject holding my greatest interest is politics, but because I have seen what can happen to formerly harmonious group am glad, in a way, that the subject is taboo in this forum. I am Canadian, originally from Germany, but have lived here for 63 years. I must warn everyone that I cannot always be faithful when it comes to replies. Some days I feel better than on others and on the bad days I have to be impolite and keep posters waiting. :-(
Hello Paul,
welcome to the forum from Germany. I've read you're another German, living in New Brunswick. I habe been there in the 1990s. Nice landscape.
Viele Grüße
Jürgen (but I call myself George in this forum, since it's international).
