I retired one year ago and have loved every minute. I just can't relate to those people who are "bored" in retirement. This is an interesting forum and I hope to have many enjoyable conversations with you.

Glad to have you joined us, Glinda. :welcome:

Welcome Glinda..glad you've found us.:)

I am not retired yet, but I do understand people who are bored or who have the fear of being bored in retirement. Not everyone has the funds or the health to be able to fully enjoy their retirement as they would wish, so I'm sure it's a scary prospect for many . I hope it won't be for you.

greetings from the thumb of Michigan ...retired now five years or semi if you count I now work part time at a hardware store and who has time to be bored....

Hi Glinda, nice to have you with us!

Hi hollydolly,
I am new here, my name is Maddy.
I totally agree with your comment. I was retrenched against my will at the age of 61 and suffered from depression as a result. I personally found it difficult to get motivated to do anything. It's a different story for the self-funded retiree with great health. It can be quite daunting surfing the seniors sites because everybody appears to be so tech-savvy, knowledgeable, active, articulate and comfortably off. So thank-you for understanding the minority point of view

Hi Glinda, welcome. A good place this. Thinking back, I don't know how I ever had time for work.
