At the age of 73, I'm delighted to have found this gathering of seniors with something to say. I'm a (mostly retired) writer/editor. My wife (Cindi) and I live in Vancouver, B.C. and, at this time, are seeking legal assistance with a sticky property issue. While I am the owner of a condo in mid-city, my means are very limited. No complaints ... despite certain setbacks here and there, we are doing reasonably well.

Regardless, I'd very much hope to find an individual or group willing to explore my legal status as property owner and what avenues I might explore in dealing with a distant interloper who is (wrongly) claiming 50 percent ownership. You might find some help, but this is not the best place for specific legal advice. I know there are forums that are specifically for legal questions, I am a member of one and occasionally ask questions. However the one I use is for US law only. Best of luck with it.
 
Ric, unless someone here is a Canadian lawyer and willing to offer some assistance, it is fruitless to ask. Other than that, welcome.
 
Thanks to all for your responses. Yes, I considered that my message regarding the legal situation I'm in might be a bit much. I trust it wasn't in some way offensive or otherwise out-of-line to the membership.

With a potential court case about to be filed (as soon as this next week), the need for a competent and willing lawyer is paramount. Just thought I'd toss it out there in the event the stars lined up in my favor.

Regardless, it's a pleasure to meet the good folks hanging out in these parts. As time permits, I'll be back and posting about topics having nothing to do with legalities or my particular situation. S'alright?

I found the legal advice forum I mentioned https://forum.freeadvice.com/ . Unfortunately it is just for US law, but I suspect there may be something similar for Canadians.

Best of luck with this, I know it can be stressful. Do you have an attorney representing or helping? I believe that is always best for these things, if what you stand to lose is more than the cost anyway.
