Hello folks 👋Gee I don't use the wifi much. How much do y'all use your computers? 😁

Meh, I use the computer as much or as little as I feel like, without taking on board the opinions of those who think "too much" computer use is an "addiction", some perfect level of which should be dictated to others.

I ran into my first computer in 1979; have been using them almost continually since then. I spent 40 years in jobs in which computer usage was necessary; of those, 20 years was in running my own successful website design company.

Great comment here hollydolly! There are different types of addictions: alcohol, smoking, sex, many different kinds of drugs and I would think that if you are sitting on your butt all day gawking at some electronic device, maybe you have a very serious addiction problem? Yes, there are people who have to use the computer for work but if you are sitting at home and have only the electronic media to baby sit you you are losing out on life. I'm talking here about reasonably healthy people. Some people are house-bound for health issues and the computer is their main communication method with the outside world.

For the healthy ones, you could take a walk outside. It is good for your body and mind. You could visit a friend or take that friend for coffee. How about going to the library and read a good book to stimulate your mind? Maybe volunteer at some place that could use your talents. If you "got the bucks" you could travel, see the world, meet new people, try new foods enjoy life "over there."

I am not against iphone, computers, Roku TV or anything of the electronic gender. Hack, I started learning about Apple computers in 1989, when I think the Berlin Wall fell. However, I use the electronic media to my benefit. I refuse to become addicted. That is why 2 hours on this here "baby" finishes me off nicely.
Limiting internet time seems to help with balance. A while back, I observed those who seem to enjoy a long meaningful conversation mentioned they aren't on social media.

No cell phone! However my Chromebook is on all the time from morning until I go to bed. I'd be lost without the WIFI. I play games, I'm on Facebook because it is the only way to keep in contact with friends and family. I do know everyone on my friends list, I have 16 people on my friends list. There is often news items I see on Facebook. I'm on a couple of forums , one that I have been on at least 20 years. It is on even when the TV is on!
