Hello from Canada

Welcome! I think you will get something out of this forum. There's something for everybody. Beings you're an introvert (as I am too), I think you will find this will help you connect with people without getting out of your comfort zone.

@Warrigal
Not personal at all, thank you for telling me your story.
My biggest issue is that I have suffer from social anxiety and have been introverted all my life. It is not easy for me to just talk to people let alone strangers.
Something that comes to my mind is the saying of Lao Tzu - "a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step".

Introvert or not, it doesn't cost very much to look someone in the eye and smile at them. Try going for a morning walk and when you see someone out and about give them a smile or a wave and say something like "Good morning" or "Lovely day, isn't it?"

Do it often enough and you are on your way overcoming your anxieties enough to consider engaging in something more challenging that you would like to try out. As Lao Tzu wisely inferred, we can do difficult things once we take the first step. Without that beginning step we get nowhere.

The decision is yours - loneliness, or new experiences that might result in new friends? Maybe worth a try?
