Hello all!

I‘ve been retired 12 years. My husband passed from cancer this year — prostate cancer that ultimately spread to his bones and lungs. I hope to keep the farm, with a little help from my brother who is third generation on our family’s small farm.

Looking forward to good conversation 🤠

I hope we can provide some comfort, company, and support for your life going forward. You've been through a lot, as many have here on this forum. We welcome you, and appreciate you inviting us into your life.

Hi @Imogene. Welcome to the forum. What kind of small farm do you help operate? That sounds interesting.

Hi Chic:). I was raised on a small dairy farm, where not much went to waste. I tell folks my excuse for not knowing how to cook or bake is dad had a wrench in my hand, before mom could get a frying pan in it. It’s safe to say all I can fix really good is a mean farmer’s breakfast🤠. Thank goodness crockpots came along just when I needed them😁

Many years ago, part of the land I now own was partly used for beef cattle, and they raised soy on the other ten acres. When husband and I bought this land the two-fold purpose was a great place for my last group of Keeper horses to live their lives in as natural a setting as possible, and to live where all we hear are wild life and tractors. He was a suburban dude through and through but he adapted to life in the rural and mending fences much better than I expected 😘😘
