Hello Members, by way of introduction, I come from The Land Down Under and looking forward to browsing through the forums and having a bit of a chinwag.

Buying bread from a man in Brussels
He was six-foot-four and full of muscles
I said, "Do you speak-a my language?"
He just smiled and gave me a Vegemite sandwich
And he said
I come from a land down under
Where beer does flow and men chunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover
Yeah..........

I retired in 2007, keeping active and enjoying retirement - long may it last.:)

Cheers for now.

Just in case, :)

Vegemite Sandwich - Vegemite is a fermented yeast spread that is pretty much a national institution in Australia. Some people love it and can't start the day without a piece of toast spread with Vegemite, and some go so far as to carry a small jar of it with them when they travel overseas. Some are indifferent to it, and others can't stand it. It kind of resembles smooth black tar, and is similar in taste to the English "Marmite," but Aussies will always tell you that Vegemite is far superior. Regarding the lyrics, "Where beer does flow, and men chunder..." Chunder is Aussie slang meaning to vomit.

Hello from another Aussie ..from SA ..

Hello Kadee, I see from your avatar you have an interest in Golden Retrievers, we have three, our latest is Danny @ 18 weeks old.

They are working dogs with my wife doing retrieving, tracking and obedience.

Cheers.

I don't know what happened but my reply dissapeared. ..so here I go again ........No John I don't have any pets at all ...it's just a picture I like ..
I have been asked in the past if they are my pets ...sadly no ...

Hubby and I go up the Gold Coast ( Coolangatta ) every winter for 4-5 weeks and it wouldn't be fair on a pet to rely on someone else to look after while we are away ...Our last dog who passed away about 14 years ago was a silky terrier ..she would fret if we went out for a couple of hours ...so we decided not to have any further pets unless we are home all the time to,take care of one ...We are way to young to stay put at this stage in life we are only 70 and 71 ..:laugh:

Nope. Sydney born and bred but the photo reminds me of paintings by Tom Roberts of Victorian forests because of the light and tree density.

I picked up the moniker Warrigal when I was a youth leader and I've kept it even though my totem animal is more likely to be a wombat than a dingo.
