Good evening,
I'm French, I live in Soissons in Picardy. I was looking for an English speaking Forum and googled "senior", as I'm 76 (not for long, my birthday in on April 16th !).
I am a retired secondary school teacher. I'm interested in litterature, art, music, history, films ... nature, animals ( specially cats 😻) ... languages, and browsing the net.
Looking forwards to know more about you and the Forum !:)

Hi Neighbour.... you've come to the right place. This an American based forum, but with members from the UK, Canada, Australia, Germany... and now France...

Your birthday incidentally, is the day before mine... :D

"Soissons (French pronunciation: [swasɔ̃]) is a commune in the northern French department of Aisne, in the region of Hauts-de-France. Located on the river Aisne, about 100 kilometres (62 mi) northeast of Paris, it is one of the most ancient towns of France, and is probably the ancient capital of the Suessiones. Soissons is also the see of an ancient Roman Catholic diocese, whose establishment dates from about 300, and it was the location of a number of church synods called "Council of Soissons"."

Bonsoir

I am also retired and live in Scotland which is much colder than France. To keep my brain active, I am amongst other things revising my school-boy French. My other interests are reading, art, golf and walking my dog. Sadly, I no longer have a cat and probably it is not possible to have another at the moment. Au revoir, Graham

Doubtless, your English is much better than my French. Indeed it has been a long time since I visited there. One of my most memorable experiences was to stand on the Champs Elysees watching the parade on your Fete Nationale. We were camping near Calais and took the bus up to Paris for the day (and much of the night as well)! Great days!

Welcome, so sorry you lost your kitty.
