I was advized to do something with much my outdoor assets. Theft is a common occurrence in this part of Texas, so I felt this was good advice.

My husband drove a 1963 Ford pickup, but he parked it about five tears ago. It has no power stearing, and it just became to hard for him to stear. It needs a battery, a tune up, and a new paint job, but there is no rust as of yet.

What I need to know is how much is a fair price. I have no wish to overcharge, but i could use the extra cash. I would appreciate all comments. :wave:

I can't begin to tell you what a fair price is but it's important that you can start it for potential buyers to get the most out of it. You can look it up on several car buyers site to get an approximate value.

Rkunsaw, A car buyers site??? I have never paid attention to such things. Heck, I drove a 1975 Cordoba Chrysler for 35 years, untill some idiot took a fireman ax, and struck my lovely old car every 6", inside and out, even the engine. My son had borrowed it for the weekend.

Those classic car estimates that HD suggested certainly are a whole lot more than your husband paid for the truck new. I imagine your pleasantly surprised.

Ina, I took a quick look-around on the Texas (Dallas/FW - figured that was a big market) Craigslist and found prices ranging from $1,000 for a rolling frame (no body, no engine) to over $30,000 for custom all-out restorations.

It all really depends upon the condition of the truck and what the buyer plans to do with it. For someone who wants to restore it, just off the top of my head I would say $3,000 - $5,000, as long as the engine and tranny are still working.
