When the ice cream truck came to your neighborhood, what was your selection?

@hollydolly, that is quite a lot of ice cream trucks and some so unique. I remember just a short one that said ice cream on the side, with music and a bell when it came around.
There wasn't any of those vans above until I was a teen.... prior to that the only ice cream seller that came around was this....

I never got an ice cream from him, because my mother could never afford it... but I was always fascinated to watch other people get ices out of that box

There's one that comes to the park about every day the sun is out and I feel bad for the driver because they keep playing the "Camptown Races" song and you can imagine doing that for say even a couple hours a day. Would drive you insane probably.....

It's just a mini-van and the driver is abrupt. I over heard them saying "So whaddya want now?"

Banana flavored popsicles. I haven't seen them since I was a kid. (y)
They were my favourite too!!

In my neck of the woods they were called 'ice blocks'. Not sure if the kids still call them that, probably more likely to call them ice lollies nowadays. I must ask my grandkids.

This is one of the ice cream vans that used to operate in my town in the 1950s. Couldn't say if it was the one that came to my street but it would have been similar.

I noticed an ice cream truck on our street the other day, shouted to my hubby, HEY, AN ICE CREAM TRUCK! By the time I ran for some money...it was at the end of the block. It never stopped . 😢
Ours comes around every evening in summer... the kids have to know when he's coming because if he stops and no-one comes to him in 2 minutes then he drives off to the next stop.. so they have to be quick

I cannot remember if there was a ice cream truck in our little
rural town, I doubt it tho....in this town the trucks don't even
pause on this street, prob due to lack of kids on the street...
