Here is the devotion of our blind dogs

awwwwwwwww.... the sense of smell is soo acute on dogs, bless her. I can't imagine how a dog gets by being deaf and blind, kudos to her humans who must love her very much

Awwwwwwww! One of my black labs (RIP) years ago went blind from diabetes, despite my giving her her regular insulin shots. She knew the house so well that more people didn't know she was blind except when playing fetch. She lived several more years with the blindness and didn't seem to mind it as much as I did. She was a real sweetheart.

Lot of dogs go blind with cataracts when they get older. My mom's silky terrier did and she wanted to get his cataracts removed, but only calm type dogs can have it done because of the after surgery period where they can't jump around or touch their eyes. But it is amazing how they can get around. It really does make you sad to watch those sweet dogs, though, but they don't have self-pity.
