Hey Everybody: Computers :-)

My mouse for my PC has been giving me problems, I wonder if it needs to be replaced.

Sometimes when I click the mouse on the left, this pop-up comes on and keeps coming on (could be any) and won't let me keep typing. At first I saw lots of cat hair inside the hole underneath with the red light on it, but when I vacuumed the hair out, it was better but still did it. It's very irritating. I'm thinking of buying a wireless one at Amazon, it's only like $19, but I hate to buy a replacement if it's not necessary (I'm very frugal). Any suggestions? Any fix-its? Or do I need to bite the bullet and spend the money for a new one?

Sorry for hijacking, Cheryl, I didn't want to start a new thread.

Haven't used a mouse in many years. Track ball stays in one place and I roll it around with thumb and fingers, no mouse pad needed. They come corded or cordless.

Holly, you might try a trackball type mouse (that has an actual large ball on top). The mouse sits stationary and you roll the ball around with your fingers. Like this one... https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Tra...er+ball+mouse+for+apple&qid=1584900602&sr=8-3

My laptop has a setting to change the sensitivity of the touch pad which helps a LOT. My touch pad used to make me crazy(er) because any accidental touch moved the cursor and turned me into the "cursor." :D
Interesting ...I've never seen one of those before, I may look more into that little gadget... (y)

Thanks! I went to youtube and entered ''pop up comes up when using mouse" and all that came up were instructions on how to make pop-ups come up, not how to fix the problem. Sigh!

I was never interested in owning a laptop. I couldn't see myself carrying it everywhere, like I saw folks do. Never thought I wanted a tablet either but I'm so glad I got mine (I now have two). That's awesome that you have taught yourself the inner workings of your laptop. Must save a lot in repairs. Don't have to deal with Windows because I have a Mac.

I got a wireless mouse the same day I got my laptop. It works on a little foam pad on the desk, but it works nearly as well on a plain hard surface, such as a table. I like it a lot.
