Went for a good walk today and did some dog grooming.
Cool. Was it your dog you groomed?Went for a good walk today and did some dog grooming.
Yes. I don’t groom other peoples dogs. Mine would disown me.Cool. Was it your dog you groomed?
That's so funny! Reminds me of when someone brought another dog over my apartment. My dog threw a fit as if to say "oh, how could you?"Yes. I don’t groom other peoples dogs. Mine would disown me.![]()
I'm glad you are feeling better now. I know migraines are the pits. Sleep well my friendToday was a migraine day. I could not take my medicine until late in the day because I could not hold anything down. I feel better now, got some toast and chicken soup in and took the meds. Hope to get a good night's sleep and have a better day tomorrow.
Much better today, but still not a 100%, did not really get anything done today The dogs decided that they wanted out early today, so I was up. Just laid around. Hope to get to the grocery, pharmacy tomorrow. Need to do another cook up for a few days. Are you feeling better?I'm glad you are feeling better now. I know migraines are the pits. Does the sound machine work for you? I run a bedside fan every night for the white noise but I also like that slight breeze blowing over me. I would still run the fan but wonder if a sound machine might help with my tinnitus.Well I got my sleep quota done for the week. I put both of my sound machines on and relaxed into Dreamland. I'm thinking of making a nice cuppa tea now.
Have you heard anything about your application for housing. I have wondered about what you do for heat, is it done with propane? Do you have a ice box that you can keep food cold? Do you have a way to heat food, toaster oven, hot plate? In other words, can you cook a large amount and it just need to be reheated for meals? I just want you be able to find a little more stable place than the van. Have a roof over your head, a small kitchen, and a bath. Everyone deserves that much. I know that there are homeless people that do not want to follow the rules for housing but you don't seem to be one of those, I just want you to have a small space where you feel safe and life is not so hard.Well, made breakfast for two this morning. Just pondered a few things, estimated week worth of breakfast (Eggs, bread & sausage links) only $20. Was repaid for propane.
Tonight made diced chicken breast, can of chicken noodle soup, three pkgs of ramen and can of carrots. Again, for 2. Burp.....(Excuse me!)
Tonight leaving heat on, 35 degrees forecast......
I did a lot of laying around this weekend too. I was catching up on my sleep. I took my meds to relax and be in a better mood and frame of mind. I needed to take allergy med too and it's a little sedating too. Before this weekend I was having sleep loss problems. I've had them for a very long time.Much better today, but still not a 100%, did not really get anything done today The dogs decided that they wanted out early today, so I was up. Just laid around. I get it, I do whatever I can to feel better but sometimes there is a struggle. Certain meds I can't take if there is a need to drive. I do use grocery delivery when I have to but I prefer to go and chose my meats and produce when I can. I am also needing to gas up the car, I only need to do that once a quarter as I don't go out much and not far when I do. Everything is a mile or two from home. Many things are in walking distance, the post office, library, CVS and the neighborhood Walmart. Funny, when we bought this house, I was not thinking about my life as a senior but it has turned out to be one of the best decisions we made as young adults.I did a lot of laying around this weekend too. I can't take all these meds all the time, the combination makes me groggy. I have a low tolerance to all them .
My system just can't take all the meds all the time. So I mainly add the allergy med when I am in a desperate need for some long, solid sleeping.
I feel fine now and thanks for asking
I too need to go to CVS and pick up some prescriptions and then fill the car's gas tank up. I have to get out of this apartment for awhile. Monday I will be cooking up something too. I have to defrost some ground turkey.
All the food sounds yummy and making me hungry nowWell, made breakfast for two this morning. Just pondered a few things, estimated week worth of breakfast (Eggs, bread & sausage links) only $20. Was repaid for propane.

I like grocery delivery as well. They usually choose good produce and poultry for mee. That's been my experience at least.I get it, I do whatever I can to feel better but sometimes there is a struggle. Certain meds I can't take if there is a need to drive. I think they could do all right but I usually always have a good stock of meats in the freezer, plenty of frozen and canned veggies until I can get to the store. What I normally order are shelf stable products, milk, sodas, water and dog food to fill in until I can get to the store. I use a neighborhood Walmart for those things. I prefer to buy meats at Albertsons and Kroger. Kroger runs the best sales on cereals, chips, butter and produce. Most meats are the best buy at Albertsons.I like grocery delivery as well. How many bedrooms do you have? Is it one level or two or three? That's wonderful to have a place you love.
Everyone has their preferences of stores they like to shop. I usually shop Aldi's and Lucky's. It is one level, I have 4 beds and 3 baths, I do not use most of the rooms now. Just my bed, bath, the den, kitchen and laundry. The grandson has his sleeping and playrooms when he stays with me. The so called formal living room is set up for him as well. It has his TV, video games set up in there.
The house was built back in the 70's. It was a new neighborhood at that time. This house was a product of a nearby church as the home for the pastor. It built up around a new elementary school, my house is 3 homes away from the school. We hoped to have more children, that did not happen. We also thought it would be a good place if we had to provide care to our parents. As it turned out, my Mom did need care and came to live with me after my husband passed. My son also had his fiance and her son come here to live for a few years while they saved to be married and buy their own home.
Yes, they opened another waiting list here in Vancouver, but as usual, the higher you score. The faster you get housed. I'm also listed for Longview & Yakima. It's just a waiting game.Have you heard anything about your application for housing. I have wondered about what you do for heat, is it done with propane? We are doing fine, Lilly our oldest dog is still fighting bladder cancer and enjoying life for the most part. It has been raining all day down her, but I suspect that our weather is still better than what your area is putting up with right now.@Pecos I've been thinking of you and wondering how you and the family are doing. I miss hearing from you.
So sorry you've been dealing with so many repairs. Do you do them all yourself? We are doing fine, Lilly our oldest dog is still fighting bladder cancer and enjoying life for the most part. I am doing fine, but LOL have been plagued by things breaking sprinkler system, cable TV, you name it. I have been staying busy as a repairman. I will sure be happy when this nasty green pine tree pollen stops.
I enjoyed reading the dialogue between you and @Blessed and @Disgustedman. To me that is an example of the best of what SF has to offer because of the friendly supportive nature of the exchanges.
" Looking forward to talking a nice, warm fragrant bath." LOL, enjoy that hot water and the relaxation it brings.
Pecos
I do most of the repairs myself. LOL, I am a bit stubborn I suppose. I did have to get help with my sprinkler system. The guy I use must be part mole judging by his ability to find broken underground wires and pipes. So sorry you've been dealing with so many repairs. Do you do them all yourself?
I'm glad Lily is hanging in there. How old is she now?
The weather here is still cold but we've hardly had any snow at all. I still don't like the temperature though lately. In the thirties mainly. I'd like it to be in the 50s at least.
Yes, that bath is calling me. I feel too cold to take it yet. I'm going to crank the heat up. I'm always glad to hear from you and hope that pine pollen goes away soon!
That's wonderful that you are able to do a lot of your own repairs. I do a few of my own even though we have maintenance here. I fixed theI do most of the repairs myself. Lilly is a bit over 14 now and is close to being our longest-lived dog despite the cancer. I suppose that there is a lesson here for humans about being positive.
Enjoy that hot water. I generally shower, but there is something wonderful about soaking in a hot tub with a glass of wine.
Oh, I will be so happy when the pine pollen season comes to an end. Our has an ability to adhere to things and it tough to clean off.
Have a good evening my friend.
