Hi All

G'Day everyone

Just saying hello Been busy looking after myself and my wife

This is the latest from my wife.Went to stand up from the bed using her wheelie walker. She forgot to put the brakes on and walker took off along with her.She fell on top of walker striking her cheek bone on metal brake
Took her to Emergency and apparently a bad night for them.Had to wait 2 hrs to see Dr.She had CT scan and Dr said it looks ok but to check with our own Dr in a couple of days.Xray report will be forwarded on to him.4 days later we got to see our Dr. ..................NO REPORT !!!!
Dr had a feel and said he couldn't feel anything broken. Now she is getting pain in her leg.(She had it tangled up under bed and she was confused I had to manually lift her back to bed.No use calling Ambulance. They wouldn't come one other time when Maureen had temp of 39.9
Oh well so much fo my rambling on.Here is a pic at the Hospital of her face

Gosh sorry to hear about the troubles you and your wife are dealing with Phantom. I'm sure the gash on your wife's cheek will heal and hopefully the whole incident isn't leaving her (and you) with more anxiety than you need. Getting old can be such a b****! Anyone disagree with that?..............I thought not.

Aww so sorry about your wife's injuries. That just looks so painful. Hope she feels well very soon.

Phantom, so sorry to hear the news about your wife. That certainly looks like it's very painful, I hope she recovers from her injury quickly and completely. Not using brakes is a big problem. My mother in law, when she lived with us was in the kitchen in her wheelchair. I heard her scream from the other room and went running in to see what was the matter.

She decided to put her feet up on the kitchen chair while watching TV, but she failed to put the brakes on her wheelchair. The chair rolled back and she fell onto the floor/foot rests. Luckily she was more startled than hurt, and I was able to lift her back onto the wheelchair. She wanted a walker with wheels, but we convinced her that one without would be safer.

Wow! I may have caused a scene in the ER if that was my wife or myself. Being a jock most of my life, I think the worse type, or maybe I should say the most dangerous types of injuries are those about the head or face. Because of blood clots forming and being so close to the brain, I would definitely check on her every two hours making sure she has no continuous headaches or her vision is not affected. I am sure the hospital or doctor gave you instructions on using cold and heat and also what to take for pain.

Main thing is to keep checking on her.

She is already on pain tablets s that was no issue.Lucky we brought her tablets to hospital as Triage nurse said a Dr would have to write her up for pain tablets
No mention of hot and cold pacs but knew that anyway.

Few weeks age I bought a station wagon so I could put both wheelie walker and wheelchair in
Checked for tow bar Yep bewdy !! Tried my trailer Bummer trailer has round plug car has oblong
Oh well just change trailer plug .........Trailer wires corroded so was lights
So today I have been re wiring my trailer.Few hours latter sore back Can hardly move
