Maywalk
Just found this site while browsing the web. It says Senior so just wondered how Senior one must be.
I may be too old and wont be offended if you think I am.
Having said that I am still getting folks from worldwide visiting my W.W.2 website.
Have a good day everyone. :D

If you can use a computer to talk to us then you aren't too old at all.
Welcome to the forum, Maywalk.

Where were you evacuated from?

Many thanks for the welcome and I to answer your question Warra I went all through the London Blitz. I was bombed out twice and machine gunned twice.
I wrote a book about the first 20 years of my life which takes in the war years. All proceeds from has gone to my local Childrens Hospice.

Thanks Jill.
I will be going out in a short while to get my grub in but I will call back later to have a word with folks.
I am by the way 83 years old but been on the computer since 2005. My son wanted me to record all my tales from W.W.2 so he bought my first computer and taught me what to do and its been all go since then, especially when the TV and Radio found out about my website.
Thanks again everyone for the welcome.

Wonderful Maywalk. I only wish my Dad would record his time in the Marines and the invasion of Iwo Jima. He is now 97 years old and has recalled bits and pieces of his time there. I do have some material that I can post later. Would love to hear of some of your adventures as I am very interested I WW2 stories.

Welcome to our board, Maywalk. You will love it here. And so far as being too old to join, that would never be the case for anyone of any age. No one can be too old for this board, they take us all! I look forward to hearing some interesting stories from you, know you have plenty to share.

In the meantime, have yourself a wonderful weekend!:)

Thanks everyone for the welcome.
Not long got back from doing the food shopping and now feeling shattered.
I will be perusing the postings in a short while and I hope I will be able to contribute to some of them.
God Bless All.

Welcome, Maywalk; good to have you here. Can you share your website and the name of your book?? Sounds very interesting!!!

Hi Anne,
Nice to meet you.

Here is my website http://www.memorylanehf.oddquine.co.uk/
and if anyone is interested there is a place on the website in my poetry section where the whole book has been put for anyone who is interested in reading it.
Its titled "Yesterdays Child" and takes the reader through the first 20 years of my life which includes being put in a "Sisters of mercy" home and going through the war years.
The website has had well over 20,000 visitors and I have had some lovely e-mails from worldwide from those who have visited the site apart from the lovely messages left in the guest book.
I hope you enjoy the browse.

I am just perusing the forums and will most probably post more tomorrow because its 21-43 here in the UK and getting towards bed time. Got to be up early tomorrow because hubby and I will be having a flu jab about 9 am.
God Bless.
