Hi there,
I was looking for a forum where I could learn from others about senior fitness and I found this one.

I'm married, with two adult children and one grandchild. I've been retired a couple of years now, after 40+ years in the IT business. Most of those years were with IBM, working as a software developer and project manager. My main hobby is motorcycling - I'm sort of new to riding, having just started about 9 years ago. Learned on a 750cc Kawasaki Vulcan, and used to ride a 1300cc Honda VTX cruiser. Now I'm riding an Indian Roadmaster. I belong to a riding club of about 15 other guys in their 50's - 70's, called the "Slow Riders MC". When I'm not riding during the colder months I also enjoy drawing with pastels.

I recently decided to get back into volunteer firefighting, something I really enjoyed as a younger man on Long Island in the mid 70's, and so I need to get myself back into some sort of decent physical condition after not exercising for roughly 30+years. I'm hoping I can engage with some knowledgeable people to achieve my fitness goals without killing myself :)

 Hi there Peter. :welcome: to the crew. Glad to have you here.
When my twin sons were old enough, I bought them a new Honda "Mini trail" (I think that's what it was called.) I rode it too.

Great fun.

Greetings Peter:welcome:
Volunteer fire fighting is a noble thing to do and I love motorbikes myself too
I had a Suzuki 400 and a Kawasaki Ninja. I drove across Canada when I was 20.
It was a lot of fun. The Indian is very fine indeed. E33A77ED-C68E-40BE-90CC-ED047028BF79.jpeg

Unfortunately the link attachment won't open for me either ...but Welcome-Twinkling-Stars-Picture.gif from over the Pond.

My ex was a fire-fighter, so I commend you for taking up a volunteer position
