Hi! What are you up to today? How's it going?

I got my amazon firestik and now have a new way to watch tv. Very early this morning around 2 am the internet went out for me. The tv wouldn't work either. So, maybe that's the down side of having this firestik. Used to have cable and it wasn't perfect either. The tv came back on in about 10 to 15 min. so it was okay. None of these new inventions are perfect I guess. I know the internet isn't new. :)

Ruthanne--some of the cable companies and internet providers push "updates" or do system maintenance in the wee hours. It's annoying as a night owl to lose connectivity.

Today I cooked frozen chicken breasts in crockpot, (Italian flavourings,) made gravy, served over steamed vegetables and rice. To die for! I buy the chicken in large containers when it is on sale.

That sounds yummy! Good ideas there! I have to get a crock pot; I sold mine at the last yard sale...:crying:

Because I love you (and so does Philly) I beg you not to cook frozen meats in the Crockpot. I know,I know, everybody does it,but it is truly not safe. Especially in today`s crockpots. The original ones got a lot hotter a lot faster than todays models so it was a little less risky. But todays pots don`t get hot enough, fast enough to ensure that the chicken isn`t at an unsafe temperature for too long a time. People think that once it reaches "done" temps that any bacteria will be killed off,but this is not the case for this type of bacteria-any more than leaving a pound of hamburger in the trunk of your car all day on a hot day will be safe once it`s cooked. It`s literally rotten meat.

Thanks so much for the information.

I am bottling some wine this morning and then a bit of grocery shopping. Then stopping by the library for a book I ordered.

I love my crock pot, use it all the time for roasts, even a cheaper cut of meat comes out fork tender. I always add potato and carrots and they all cook at the same time.

This morning,I'll be at one of the places where I volunteer twice/month,doing general office work I've been there 3 yrs, throughly enjoy it,located 6 blocks from my apt building. The name of the org is Canopy of Neighbors, here is the link www.canopyofneighbors.com for better explanation.
Its raining here today, unseasonable warm temps in the 60's,love it better than snow!!! Sue

It's good to have something like that to do, I think, if you enjoy it, too. We have the unusual weather for this time of year too today--it's 70 F! We are setting a new record.

Today I woke up from a scary dream worthy of a Stephen King story, did my usual sudoku-kakuro-futoshiki puzzles, watched a few true crime type shows, did one errand, worked on a bead weaving bracelet and folded one load of dry laundry

Wow, I wish I used my day as productively as you do! I, too, had a real scary dream; makes me not want to go to sleep it was that scary. Do you sell your bead woven bracelets? I have thought of doing that and selling on Ebay.

It's almost midnight here and I'm watching the Olympics while stretched out in my new reclining couch!! These things are awesome, although I can see that I'll probably be waking up in the morning more than a few times on this, its so darn comfy!!

I have seen those reclining couches on tv. I think they look really comfy. When I had a recliner I often woke up on it in the morning! :)
