Sorry, I hadn't seen your post until after I posted the YouTube link. I agree, the metal bases would look good with Tiffany style lampshades which are very popular. I know several people who have them.

If you truly want to get rid of them, bring them up and price them at $1. People will buy them then. Maybe price the green hobnail one a bit higher but the rest are a dime-a-dozen at the thrift shops.

I remember most of them and don’t really care for any of them.

Most people already have the basics and those that don’t can find something fresh and new at Walmart or Target for a few dollars that they can put on their credit card.

That’s the problem with stuff.

I would simplify my life and donate them or set them on the curb.

The problem with "brass" lamps is if they are cheaply made, they're the devil to polish up. The brass plating wears through with the base metal showing and there's nothing you can do but paint them.

Even the good quality brass stuff is hard to keep nice unless it's coated with some kind of sealant and even then, you don't want to scratch it.

I bought a Swann (Swan?) solid brass bed at a furniture expo many years ago for a horrifying sum and it was a bitch to take care of. Nobody would pay even $20 for it and I ended up donating. I heard the receiving guy say, "Oh, hell, not another one of those!" It weighed a ton and was hard to move, assemble and disassemble.

No more brass for me.

Speaking of lamps.

I've been trying to sweet talk mama into letting me get a 'leg lamp' but I'm not having much luck so far.

Didn't have my hearing aids in at the time so I didn't catch the exact wording but she said something along the lines of that I was either low class or had no class and ask me if I was friggin' nutz.

Go ahead and admit it this is absolutely beautiful.....right ?

I got a nibble on Marketplace on the amber glass with eagle lamp, but the person never followed through on it. Not surprising, this happens most of the time with me on MP. Sometimes I think people, just go through the listings and click "Is this item still available?" with no intention of buying.
