When I was a youngster my Grandpa, Dad, and 2 brothers would go to the Monterey Bay shore line to fish of the rocks. It was so exciting because it was a totally different world on the edge of the Pacific ocean. Sea birds, kelp, sea smell, waves crashing against the rocks, and sandy beeches. Sometimes we would see seals, or occasional whale. But my favorite place there was the tide pools. When the tide goes out , pools form that are crystal clear, and there is a zoo of small sea creatures in them.
