High school crushes

Yes and I still have the scar on my middle finger from that crush. He didn't see me as I tried to get his attention

Slammed my locker door hard and my hand got in the way, needed several stitches.

It got his attention and everyone else's too.

Had a crush on the same redhead all through Jr. and Sr. high. When I was 19, and had a boyfriend, he suddenly called me up and asked me out. I said I couldn't because I was seeing someone. I sometimes wish I'd gone out with him, as I split with that boyfriend. However, I've never dated someone while already seeing someone else. Shortly after, I moved 3,000 miles away.

I don't give any thought to old crushes, but I do often think about what happened to the many people I once knew and attended school with from kindergarten to grad.

Many are gone now, as in passed, and a majority of others just sort of disappeared, slipped-away to start lives of their own after grad, but having always built strong connections and friendships with others all my way through school, it's hard to forget names and faces of those you interacted with daily, yearly, and then poof, they're gone.

I had a crush on a boy when I was in the third grade. I'm not sure if I liked him because he had an interest in drawing like I did or because I thought he was handsome. Probably both.
That year my grandpa bought me the most beautiful set of colored pencils for Christmas. I brought them to school and I shared them with him.
We had a class contest. The person who drew the nicest picture got to display their picture behind the classroom fish tank.. The teacher picked both of our pictures and each week we switched.
Both of us were so proud.
Every once in awhile when I see a fish tank and the backgrounds they have for them these days I often wonder what became of him.

Well, I had a handsome psychology teacher and on the first day of school, I got a little excited. But the first lesson was Telepathy is a pseudo- science. it does not exist! I argued with him. He made me stand in front of the class and read the entire chapter aloud. I still told him I disagreed with the chapter. He flunked me. End of crush!

Sometimes I think about my first serious crush.
I had just turned 17 and he looked older than me. He looked like a modern Jesus with a full beard and moustache and it wasn’t until after we started dating that I discovered he was only 15. We still went out. He was a really nice guy but he later broke up with me to go out with an someone older who had a car. The last time I saw him, I was standing at the bus stop and he drove by. While staring at me he drove his girlfriends new Trans AM into the back of a car. 🤣🥳

Manuela was drop-dead gorgeous, and I was like every other boy in the neighborhood. We all had crushes on her, and failing that, at least get her on your team when you played sandlot baseball or football because she was quite an athletic. She could be a bit rough as I remember and nobody in their right mind dared insult her as she could whip any of us.

He's still one of my best friends. It was our junior year in high school and I sat behind him in Geometry. I took an immediate liking to him. Unfortunately for me, he took an immediate liking to the girl who sat in front of him. It took two months of my pining for him and his unrequited pursuit of "her" before he finally recognized that fate had decreed we would be a couple.

We "went steady" the rest of the school year but parted as friends during the summer. There was a glimmer of a chance at a second go-round later in college but that didn't work out.

We realized that we were better at being friends than at romance and we've been best friends since then. He still owns a little corner of my heart....the brother I never had.

I never reveal a name on these questions just in case they are reading it but there was someone...we never went out but we did sit together in some lessons....and have never seen her since we left school.

As I've shared on here before, I married my high school sweetheart, and we were together until she passed away. But to show you how things twist and turn, my SO and I also went to grades 1>3 together, then, later, grades 10>12. It was a small school so we knew each other, but never dated, or even paid a lot of attention to each other. To me she was just the bubbly, cute little blond girl, bebopping down the hall way. To her (though she won't admit it..) I was just another jock who couldn't dance.

Fast forward over 50 years, we reconnected on FB, and have been together for over 2 years. Go figure.

You are absolutely right. I took the last name out, even though she passed on years ago. Thanks for the heads-up on that.

I don't have any from high school but I do have a couple from college. The one I never went out with but actually spent some time with as a friend was more interested in my friend than me. The one that I actually dated so she's more of an old flame than an old crush ended up with my former best friend in a not too pleasant way. I'm still friends with her on Facebook but that's about it.

When your in high school, who else are you going to have a crush on besides a classmate? Strange, after graduation, I never saw a classmate ever again.

In 5th grade there was a pretty little lady who sat in the seat next to mine. We liked to chat, and one day the teacher told me : you have good taste, but shut up. She did not come back after summer vacation and I never learned why.

I married my high school crush and we had two wonderful sons. Sadly we divorced but have remained friends and share in our children/grandchildren's lives. So I pretty much know what happened to him. :D
