Scratchy Bottom, Dorset

Can you imagine the conversation when you're ordering from Amazon?I think California can beat it with "Zzyzx" (/ˈzaɪzɪks/ ZY-ziks) It's an "Interstate 15 Freeway" Exit between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, and also an unincorporated community in San Bernardino County. <Zzyzx, California - Wikipedia> <Zzyzx - Mojave National Preserve (U.S. National Park Service)>

First snigger of the day. How can anyone live there?View attachment 321813
Scratchy Bottom is close to the popular tourist spot of Lulworth Cove. Dorset has a number of ambiguous place names. There is a river called River Piddle:

The valley that it runs through is named after the river and is known as The Piddle Valley.

There are villages that take their name from the River Piddle too.

Also in Dorset Shitterton has to be the place with the most dubious name on the map. Shitterton is a very literal English translation of the village name recorded in Norman French in the 11th century Domesday Book as Scatera or Scetra, which means a little town that is on the stream of a midden or sewer.
