We don't have as far to go, as we've already been

I really don’t give a Rats ass who this offends, I stand by all I say. Collapse is coming, sooner or later!
You can thank the Government!! They are all a bunch of cowards!
They raised the cost of living so high that both parents are always at work, rather than spending time with their children.
They took God out of schools.
Parents were told 'No you can't discipline your kids'. Well, now most of those kids are rude and out of control.
You shall reap what you sow! We have taken a whole generation and turned them into selfish, entitled brats who have no respect for people, property or authority!
They deem people with terminal illnesses and some with only a few months to live… unfit for help, but, fit for work!!!
They allow our veterans of war to go homeless and hungry but give out millions to foreign aid!!!
They save drug addicts over and over again but refuse to give free diabetic supplies to those who need them to stay alive.
They bend over backwards to be politically correct, too scared to say enough is enough, in case you offend someone.
They put the retirement age up so people must work until they drop.
They take care of prisoners and give them everything under the sun (food, medical, education, representation, money, rehabilitation) yet they cause the elderly... you know, those that have paid their debt to society and their families buy working hard paying taxes and living a lawful life to go broke caring for them either at home or in a nursing home.
THINGS NEED TO CHANGE!

I have to strongly dis-agree with you about the current generation of American youth. You need to sit down with some Police officers who have to deal with these little criminals. The kids are strongly influenced by the messages that they see on their video phones, AND the violent music that they listen to. I am talking about the REALITY of life in your country in 2022. Try this. look up the rate of juvenile arrests in YOUR county in the past year, and WHAT crimes they were arrested FOR. You need to get educated about the realities around you. JimB.
 
"Repent the end is near". Seems I've heard this before somewhere. The up side is, if you say it long enough your eventually bound to be correct. I agree there's a big downturn coming, and those cycles are inescapable. As to the young, that songs been playing in the top 10 forever too. Walk out side take a big breath of fresh air, and just say thank you to who, or what ever you believe in, and get on with a hopefully productive, and happy day.

I tend to agree. It's a different world today, than years ago. Today, individual responsibility seems to be waning a bit more with every generation. Political Correctness seems to be the primary guide. Most politicians seem to be only; concerned with satisfying their campaign donors, and only pay "homage" to the average voters in the final weeks of an election. Corporations move their manufacturing overseas, so as to pad their profits. The nations National Debt is reaching unsustainable levels, and will eventually result in a sharp decline in the value of the Dollar...and prices for consumer products and services will skyrocket. Automation and AI are taking over more and more of the manufacturing jobs that built the foundation for a financially secure Middle Class.

As the need for productive human labor continues to decline, the birth rates continue to climb...especially among the demographics which are already relying on government subsidies for their very existence.

Most of us "elders" won't be around to see the results of todays actions, but our grandchildren, and beyond will be facing some serious problems

That's enough. Those young folks are in the overwhelming minority. Their generation will be as fine as any which may not be saying much.

Jim, I generally agree with you but saying "You need to get educated about the realities around you." is just down right condescending and I'm calling you on it.
 
Oh well what are you going to do?
1. Write your congressperson. They get emails from people all the time and send out the same form letter to everyone.
2. Vote. Sounds good enough
3. Join a militia. Blah then you have to keep up with their nutty rhetoric or you're out, but you get to carry a gun around at meetings
4. March on Washington. Gotta drive there then drive back
5. Run for office. Good luck your life will be laid bare to the public
6. How about printing out flyers and sending them out. Costs money for ink and stamps, Plus it is boring and exhausting.
7. Find something else to think about ⭐

I hate all the open ended gloom and doom predictions. Can you give me a precise day when things are going to "collapse"? I'd like to know how much toilet paper to buy.
 
All I can do is prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I believe that in the near future if you call for help from government officials no one will show up to help. Heck it is that way now. If I had to call for help it would take them close to thirty minutes to get down my driveway. So I go by the old Boyscout motto "Be Prepared."
 
We have to keep the separation between church and state. Not all religions are the same. Not all Christian religions are the same. This is how holy wars get started.
All we can do is vote in ALL elections. Then get up the next day, see who won, and adjust our lives to it.
Make our worlds small to suit us.

..well blow me down.. you didn't tell us you'd moved here to the UK.... ...and dam... you're so right.. things need to change and PDQ... let's start with disciplining children so they stop growing up to be snowflakes offended at everything, and less self entitled .. and lets STOP right now forcing people to work who have chronic disabilities or illness.. that would be a beginning !!

How about just doing what you can to teach your grandchildren to be better persons? Is THAT too hard also?

Might want to start by adults posting in various threads to be more civil with each other. If we can't be civil with each other at our age what hope is there for change?
 
Make sure you vote, but do so wisely. Understand what the Constitution actually states as opposed to someone's interpretation of it.

See that each branch of the government deals only with that which they are charged with. Not interfering elsewhere.
