Horrendous spousal abuse in France

Unbelievable. All of them depraved. I hope they get very long sentences. Really long sentences.
so do I Warrigal... seriously horrible, horrible crime.

That poor woman.. .. and to compound things even further their daughter just found out yesterday in court that the father had drugged her too, dressed her in her mother clothing, and took pictures of her which he kept in a file on his computer...altho' as far as they know he'd not actually gone as far as inviting strangers to attack her...

FGS it was terrible enough that she thought her mother was the only victim, without discovering her father carried out such a depraved act to her too..

I can't actually get my head around it.. and I'm not the victim.

That poor woman who discovered that not only had she been defiled by strangers.. for years.. but also today discovered that the husband himself had drugged and raped her more than 200 times...:eek: This was a person she presumably loved and trusted.... ..how the hell does anyone move on from that, ?

She's been so brave in allowing the media to know who she is... and to force this terrible crime and these criminals to be tried in Public... and in the eye of the media... disgusting, animals...

She was infected with a STI and her husband accused her of being unfaithful.
Il est tas de merde!

see.. in cases like this..no punishment is going to be harsh enough for this man ...IMO

he's not only physically damaged this woman by his own actions, and encouraged others to do the same.. he's mentally destroyed her, and his daughter, and the rest of his family after this became known to them .. as well as the wives and families of these men in the Dock alongside him..

I would hate to be in the Judge's place..wondering what sentence he can mete to this man , that would be the right one to dissuade any other person from having the same idea... and still be within the law so as he cannot appeal and have his sentenced overturned ...

Pick the ones that apply to the man or wife.

Psalm 37:23 ESV
The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way;

Proverbs 16:9 ESV
The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps

Ephesians 2:10 ESV
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Esther 4:14
Perhaps you were born for such a time as this.

Romans 8:28
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Psalm 33:11
The plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart through all generations.

Psalm 32:8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

Maybe a defense would be the man was following God's plan.

@knight….you missed a mark somewhere. I am not overly religious….but this quote springs to mind “if I must fight than let my sword be drunk with blood”. Sort of along the eye for an eye thing. If I was the daughter I would take up sharp shooting and never miss a wink of sleep.

Don't be ridiculous, or should I say deliberately provocative.

Rape should be a crime receiving capital punishment.
If it is proven, beyond a shadow of doubt, perhaps. But not something claimed sometime later , after a bit of time.

Think about it, do you want to be arrested/prosecuted on accusation alone ? of any crime? Without evidence of any kind ?

You are right. The due process of law should be observed.

they have video evidence... that's how they were able to track down all the rapists including the husband

I wasn't referring to this case only, My comment was regarding post #16

"Rape should be a crime receiving capital punishment."

In which just [rape] was noted. Hence, my comment.

Here in the U.S., or at least in Pennsylvania, each rape would be 1 count, which would be punishable by up to 25 years in prison and a $25,000 fine. Without doing the math, he would be facing life, plus umpteen thousands of dollars in fines.

Unfortunately European punishments in law are much lower than in the USA.. but I sincerely hope there is some kind of loophole which will mean this man never sees the light of day again
