I never met a hot dog I didn't like! But I have to say- Dodger Dog, New York, Seattle, Tiajuana, Chicago, and Denver Dogs would be my top picks.

I'll take one of each of the following, please... just to check 'em out, you understand.
A Sonora because anything wrapped in bacon couldn't possibly be bad.
A Columbia (but get rid of that quail egg!!!) because pineapple and potato chips on a hot dog sounds cool.
A Sweden... because mashed potatoes and shrimp salad is too intriguing to pass up!

Most of these look yummy.

They left out the Detroit coney island dog, which is one of the most unattractive of the species but also the most delicious. A wizened little dog with a large dollop of greyish sauce on it, heaped with onions. Don't like onions? Tough. Scrape them off when you get to your table but don't let Sayed or his cousin Rashish behind the counter see you doing it. You ARE allowed a squirt of mustard, though.

Once you've had a Detroit dog, there's no going back.

Why do hot dogs always taste better when you have them away from home?

I like to start with a Hofmann natural casing hot dog.


but these days I usually opt for a low calorie BallPark smoked all white meat turkey dog.

Toppings are whatever I can find in the fridge.

Well, if you're up for the challenge, and anything goes, I would prefer a custom made-to-order dog.
How about a toasted sesame seed bun with special sauce (Like Thousand Island), an all-beef grilled dog, smoked gouda melted over it, and topped with mango salsa. Let's call it a Bobcat Dog.
Throw in a Michelob Ultra and I'm a happy camper.

The "Coney" is Coney Island. There is no cheese on it; at least there didn't used to be. I loved them as a kid.

As a professional guitarist I performed all over the country. Your not supposed to cook in the hotel rooms. I had an electric skillet. My, BY FAR, meal was two hot dogs cut down the middle. Fried in a little butter, make a juicy hot dog sandwich with ALL the extra goodies.
