Hot !

It got up to 90º today.

I saw a dog chasing a cat and they both were WALKING.

Last year I had an attic fan installed.. It exhausts the hot air and keeps the A/C
from running continuously . Glad I did it; saves electricity too.

I turned it on just now to see if it's running OK for the upcoming hotter weather later on.

Now I have to find a sweater to put on.

How's YOUR weather?

93 today in Houston and expected to be the same through the weekend. Heat index over 100. There is some little disturbance out there that may bring a few showers depending on what direction it takes. Just so it doesn't turn into a hurricane and head this way. This is the first year I did not renew my flood insurance. It was going to be around 800.00 and I am 22 feet above sea level. My daughter is 16 feet above sea level with a larger house and her premium is around 400.00. Go figure. Never had to use it even when tropical storm Allison dumped tons of water on us around 2001. Most of Houston was under but here in the Clear Lake area, we were okay. We evacuated as we were told to. So we will see how hurricane season treats us this year.

When I was stationed in Lake Charles, LA, in the air force, we were called out in the middle of the night
to help hold down the airplanes. Not a word about OUR safety; Just don't let anything happen to those airplanes !

That's pretty close to Houston.

Been hot and humid this past few days. Heat index hovering around 102 to 105 degrees F. Ambient temps in the mid to upper 90's. We play golf early in the morning so we can be done by around 10 a.m. That keeps us old geezers out of the extreme heat. I played 18 yesterday morning. Went back out late afternoon to play another 9 in a club tourney. I've worked outside most of my career. Found this old body doesn't deal as well with heat as it once did. I melted in the 102 heat index.

Heavy thunderstorms with a couple tornado warnings blew through earlier cooling things down. Storms predicted for tomorrow night and Saturday night. It's late Spring in Kansas. Anything can happen!!!!

Sounds good Shali. I'd like to see it. We're both on the Pacific coast.
Thanks Falcon! When everything is in bloom, it resembles the hanging gardens of Babylon. I love sitting outside in my big

rocker, listening to the birds, watching squirrels scurry about. BBQ, or just a morning coffee, or a glass of sangria in the evening, life is sweet. When the breeze blows, I can smell the fragrance of the Egytian mint, and scented geraniums growing

in pots amidst a riot of colour. That, and my Italian, what more could I possibly wish for?

Right now they're calling for 99 today, 104 tomorrow, 109 for Sunday, Monday, & Tuesday.. jeez. :distrust:

I put in a attic fan some years ago. I'll turn it on in the late afternoon, early evening to cool out the attic as the temp drops. We just have a swamp cooler so the cost of running it isn't to much. And usually the outside humidity is very low which helps the swamp cooler.

It's been very hot here, in the mid 90s. I do not deal with heat very well; at least we do not have much humidity here. I was out in the afternoon Wednesday, and came home feeling sort of ill -- we have a lot of road construction going on and traffic is backed up all over the place. Sitting in a huge traffic jam in basically a tin can in the blazing desert sun is no fun at all, even if you have good AC in your car. I came home and felt so drained I crashed for a couple hours as soon as I got my perishable groceries in the house. The non-perishables sat in the trunk until evening when it had cooled off a little. I HATE summer heat.

Very unhealthy triple digits on it's way for the weekend

I'm 71 and disabled. Snow is pretty, until you have to shovel it. And I absolutely detest anything over 72 degrees. So where can I move to where it's 72 all the time?
Do you mind some rain? I live in a maritime temperate climate. Years go by without snow, even then it is minimal and short lived. Summer averages temps in seventies, without the humidity in many other places.

I installed ceiling fans in every room, they make a huge difference, with or without the AC running.
