How 135 Nations Fare on Happiness

I figured that Denmark would be right up there. I read another article about them once and their happiness. Those kinds of articles are kind of interesting. We all like to compare ourselves don't we which might be one reason that we all seem to have 'self esteem' issues of one degree or another as in too much or not enough.

There is some kind of well being index that ranks countries on measurable indicators like access to education, health affordability of housing etc. On this objective list Australia always scores highly but we're a miserable lot - never satisfied and always griping which is why I'm not surprised that we're pretty low on that list subjective list.

I ask you, how can we possibly be below Canada where they have ten months of Winter and two months of poor skiing every year? :hide:

A lot of South American countries at the top of the list. I just finished reading a book about a woman's travels around the world, South American countries were her favorite, her observation was that the people were the friendliest.
