How about a helpful hint section? Some really do work.

As much as we love our four-legged friends, pet hair can accumulate quickly. Skip spending extra money on tools and special attachments and use this simple cleaning hack to pick up after your fur babies. Simply wear rubber household gloves and run them over the surface of your furniture. The rubber will cause the pet fur to gather into a ball that can be easily thrown away.

I always cook corn on the cob with milk in the water but the best corn on a cob I ever ate was at a seafood restaurant in NJ- they cooked the cobs in a microwave.

I don't garden as much as I used to but I always planted Silver Streak corn, a white kernel and very sweet.

Maybe I will plant some corn again this spring-just thinking about fresh corn ,growing mere steps from my back porch sounds so tempting- and the corn stalks make lovely Fall decor for my decks.

For a cheap way to keep bar soap scum off your bath or basin... take a pizza stool..

...turn it upside down and put your bar soap on top.... No mess..(y)

It’s hard to get fresh corn in Florida where I am. I miss the NYS home grown corn.

Good tip, thanks. My cat in particular has very thick lush fur. When I clean off his cat tree and any area he frequents, I use a rubber glove, and I run it under the faucet first to dampen it. I have a paper towel in the other hand to wipe the glove as I go. I often use those throw away nitrile gloves that we have on hand for various uses.

Trying to get a sticky label off an item like the back of new plates or cups, and hand dexterity not what it used to be ? .. first spray with water, wait 5 minutes then use a disposable razor to scrape it off cleanly .
Goo-be-gone is the answer for sticky labels. Orange/citrus solvent which dissolves the glue is far easier on the item and far safer for the user than a razor.

And if you don’t have any rubber gloves, wet hands work the same.

A woman friend of ours demonstrated to us that lables having adhesive resistant to this technique can usually be removed by heating them with a hair dryer, then scraping off with knife or whatever.

We buy the simple white rubber gloves from Amazon for about $8 a box. Use them for a lot of things around the house.

Wool balls in the dryer instead of dryer sheets (which are not usually biodegradable) really work. I found some at Grocery Outlet for $1.25 each in a 6-pack. I was skeptical, but they really do work. They reduce or remove static too.

The plastic dryer balls also work for helping large loads dry more thouroughly. I found those at a 99 Cent Store for $1.00. They are usually not at the 99 Cent Stores. I just got lucky that day.
