How about a SF time capsule ?

Just for giggles let's say that we could all get together and build a SF time capsule that couldn't be opened for 200 years.......what would be your contribution ?

I'd probably add a case of my favorite scotch for them to sip on while they looked at everyone else's stuff. :)

I'll throw in my cell phone. It's just a flip phone that also takes pictures, that's it.

Oh.. I guess it can send texts also.

A 'Trump/Pence' bumper sticker.
'Hillary Clinton' and 'Donald Trump' bobble-heads.
Won't open for 200 years? Then we better put a U.S. Flag in the capsule.
Some U.S. coins and currency.
A pair of eyeglasses. Medical technology will have them obsolete in 200 years.
Some chemotherapy drugs with an explanation of what they were used for. I fully expect cancer to be eradicated in much less than 200 years.
A can of Spam. 200 years from now, at least those opening the capsule would have something to eat!!

A Mickey Mouse movie. That'll confuse the heck out of 'em.

"... confuse the heck out of 'em" A few years ago, was building a project in a small community southwest of us. The town was once home to a fair sized regional hospital. The hospital shut down a decade or so ago and the building has now been demolished. Before the hospital installed an incinerator, amputated limbs were taken to the local cemetery and buried down in a small corner area of the property. Arms... legs... hands... feet.... I always thought it would be interesting in a couple hundred years when people were trying to determine what we looked like "back then". They would begin digging up a cemetery and find all these "extra" limbs. From that, they would draw the conclusion that we had multiple limbs. Can you imagine the digital imagery of what they believed we looked like with three or four arms?

I'll add a penny and a social security card...they'll both be obsolete (actually, there won't be any currency). The gov't is currently talking about doing away with social security numbers.

Here's what it will look like when the time-capsule is opened...

In 200 years they'll probably be back to Mickey Mouse again. :D

Our great, great grandchildren, living on the moon will doubtless presume he was an American president.. :hide:

I would put in pictures of cows, sheep, and goats grazing in the fields, with a note saying how we used to eat these animals... .because I think all food by then will be dehydrated chemical protein

I'd put something in there made of Plastic, because I don't believe plastic will exist then...

...and finally I'd put in a pack of cigarettes and a lighter saying..people used to set these on fire and put them in their mouth and breathe in the toxic fumes for fun...

I'll put in a million dollars for the lucky ones who get to open the capsule It won't be cash, of course, I'll write a check.

If you will put in $100 in cash I'll match it by putting in a check for $200 and take the $100 in cash out.

I think I'd put in pictures of the cost of gasoline. A copy of what the world population is now and pictures & info about how landfills and the oceans were used to absorb the wasted resources.
