How are you today?

Morning graylings!!! slept great last eve.....needed that...it is cold here 12F now
going to 40F later on...clear out....got some bills to get paid today.....pain has
reduced prob a third thank God!!! and I am taking meds without vinegar today!!!!
A friend is coming by with a bunch of paperwrk to fill out for application
to a Veteran's home....I have mixed feelings about that...but got to change
some things in my l;ife........Georgia granny so good to see you!!!!!

Yesterday I was checking labels on my meds while sorting them, and what to my wondering eyes did appear but a notation that has never been there before. I've been taking this stuff for 10 years, and this is the first time the label has ever said "take with food." What? So am I doomed or can I now change horses in the middle of the stream and survive?
I feel you on this, GG. I've been taking prescription thyroid medication since I was diagnosed as hypothyroid at age 19 or 20 - long before they gave 3 pages of printouts for every script. Took it each day, mostly in the mornings, but if I missed it then, I'd take it at other times. With food, without food, whatever.

Granted, I'm a "whatever" kinda gal anyway, but there were no instructions on how to take the meds, and it all worked out just fine. Fast forward 40 years-ish and I started to see that I was suddenly supposed to take it on an empty stomach without eating or drinking for 30-60 minutes afterwards and not within four hours of other meds, vitamins or supplements.

Spare me.

I've probably been taking this medication since before the person who decided on these ridiculous instructions was born.

I take it in the mornings (usually 😜) with a cup of creamed, sugared coffee AND I take cholesterol meds at the same time AND usually take my vitamins and supplements within a couple of hours of that. I'm still here, and the meds are obviously working just fine as evidenced by my annual bloodwork.

One of my life's mottos is, "you're not the boss of me" and it applies here. We're talking thyroid meds, big pharma, get over yourselves.

Okay, then. I forgot that it's laundry day. First load started. Counted out my 16 beans because a whole 20 oz pkg is too much. Only making half. Washed, drained, brought to a boil and now soaking.

In my other life, I'd just be getting started, but throwing a load of laundry in the washer and prepping beans has worn me out. Is this the way it's gonna be forevermore? Hate to think that this one illness has knocked me for such a loop that today is as "recovered" as I'm gonna get!

Optimist that I am, I will continue to take my vitamins...

Reckon @Pepper is still luxuriating in her own bed?

Good to see you up and about, GG!

@Pepper Speak up, woman!

Soup is done. It's gonna be called Bunchabean soup from now on because who's gonna count whether it's 9-bean or 10-bean or 15-bean or whatever-bean? It's tasty, and there's enough left of the ham steak to use when I make Mexican potato soup again. Maybe next week.

Laundry is done but not put away. There's a good reason for that. A shirt needs to be hung up, but there's no heat in the closet, and it's cold in there. I don't wanna go in the cold closet.

I check in every day...usually in the morning...then I can't remember whether I posted anything. Duh. Is this part of Oldtimer' s Disease?

I'm feeling better this morning, mostly because I haven't done anything except get dressed. It's even colder than yesterday morning but supposed to soar on up to a tropical 50F by 3pm! Woohoo.

Thought it was a week today since I've been out. Nope. It was a week yesterday, and I'm getting really squirrely and have a case of cabin fever. It's not like I wanna see or be required to speak to people, I just wanna get outta here and breathe different air for a while. I guess a little gratitude would go a long way...at least I'm only homebound by circumstance. Maybe DD will need to run some errands this afternoon... and take me along.

BTW, the Bunchabeans soup yesterday was pronounced a hit by one and all. My next trick will be remembering how I made it :ROFLMAO:.

Okay, then. @hawkdon How goes the search for new digs? and @Pepper I hope you slept the sleep of the innocent in your own bed (with your kitties, of course).
