How are you today?

73rd Birthday today. Retired now for 12 years. I like it. :)

I was thinking this morning that we all had a personality adjustment and change when we started using computers/typing to talk with one another. Knowing that millions of people will see your message/social media. The person I was before the internet has changed to be a person that is talking to possibly thousands of people...and we all know it. Has that changed your personality? It has mine. Think about talking with people before the internet. Why is it so different now? I might have to ask AI!
Oh, Happy Birthday! 🌷

Why would being beachside affect whether houses are one or two story?

Two story homes are fairly common throughout the US, though I wouldn't live in one because I tend to stumble a bit - always have. Thanks for posting the photos — it's nice to have a mental image of where you live. ❤️
Simple so residents can see the beach ….:):)

Its became a huge trend in the city now days ,( not even near beaches) due to housing blocks of land shrinking in size …..many blocks are now only 9 mtrs wide and an average 30 ~ 40 mtrs deep, with price tags starting at $350.000+ ….in working class areas, they can’t go wider ….so they build up ….
so if city dwellers want a larger home they need a 2 story …..

Perhaps there is a change coming for you. I don't know anything about you so I can safely say that I think you are in for either a change, or recovering some repressed memories from the years you lived in the house/or your childhood years. Being that the agressive breeds were not agressive but sniffing around that property it seems they are looking for something. Both breeds are very protective and are most likely in your dream to keep you safe.
I'll keep my flying kittens, tho!
Interesting! I have been thinking more about moving recently and, I have always planned to adopt a rescue dog when we do and, the last time I had a dog was in that house. It's a remote link but, maybe. Thank you @dusty :)

It's been a bright morning - light showers expected later though.

I tried my new iron out this morning and it's much better than the last one I bought. :)

Not sure what today will bring but, I wouldn't mind another day just pottering around and getting some chores done. I expect to be out and about most of the day tomorrow.

I hope everyone is well x

I'm fine-r than yesterday, thank all that is holy.

@Trish Happy over a new iron. Hm. I'd be happy if I never had to use one again. LOL

DGD came through her second spinal surgery okay. The first one was Monday. Doc told DD that the recovery is going to be long and arduous :( . Don't know yet when physical therapy will start.

The flowers await their morning drink, and the garden is getting miffed that it's been pretty much neglected in the past week or so. Therefore...we know where I'll be for a while this morning.

Good morning, world! It's Friday, Sept 12th, if you're keeping track.

@Georgiagranny, I hope the recovery for your DGD isn't as difficult as predicted.

I heard yesterday from two good friends who're roughly my age. One, always active and the picture of health, recently went through a breast cancer battle. Now a follow-up test just picked up a spot on her lung.

Another's husband had a stroke during a heart valve procedure. It's taken 7 months for him to return home after a very long stint in the hospital, then the rehab center.

My point: we don't know what may befall us, and often fail to savor good fortune when it shines. How lucky many of us are, myself included, that the biggest problems we're facing are minor aches and pains, less-than-perfect weather, calendar conflicts, a few pounds on the scale, late deliveries from Amazon, and other trivia.

Yesterday DH & I enjoyed our 3 year old GS for the day (he ditched preschool at our request). Today we have his 18 month old brother (again- our request). How fortunate we are that they live 20 minutes away, we're healthy and strong enough to chase them around, and our DS & DDIL so generously share them with us.

May we all notice and savor the joys that come our way today.

I survived yesterday , cat scan with dye ….then the other end throat ….barium meal …omg that chalky stuff you have to drink is blah …not unpleasant .…bit like mint toothpaste ….it sorta stuck to my teeth
My GP will phone me if there’s any issues I need to follow up on before I see him in 2 weeks .

Its forecast for sunny day today top of 19c , so hopefully i can get out in the garden , I’ve got a bale of sugar cane mulch to add to veggies patches ( upright garden beds ) it helps to keep the moisture in the soil , as well as adding a top up that potting mix I got a few days ago while it was on a good special

Today will be another little grandchild day (yay!). Third in a row. We can't take the 3 year old on Sunday as usual so he'll spend the day with us today. This will be it for a while because all of our schedules jam up come autumn.

@Georgiagranny, I hope your immune system vanquishes this invading bug very soon. Being sick is no fun.

Hope all find some joy in your day.

Geez. I popped back on here and discovered our friends abroad are in sweet dream land. Good morning to all of you when you awake. I wonder if our wonderful Canadians might be on our same time level. It's 5:52 p.m. here so if we're on the same time, have a wonderful evening. To our US folks? Enjoy your evening. Always thinking about all of you. Be well.

Good morning. It appears that I'm sentenced to another day of misery. Runny nose. Eyes watering so bad that it's hard to see. No fever right now.

So...how am I? Unwell again. 😷 I don't mind suffering silence as long as everybody knows I'm suffering!;)
Morning GG, I too have the runny nose crud, been that way
all summer!~! Today I have a tweaked left knee for some
unknown reason, just put a elastic wrap on it and got the
heat pad on too, dang it.....ah well...have a great day tho!!!:coffee:

I've made an executive decision. Not going to bother getting dressed today. Not going anywhere and besides, I'm feeling sorry for myself ;).

DGD may be discharged from the hospital today. She's able to walk unassisted, including stairs. If the incisions have stopped draining, she'll be home. If not, she'll be there another day.

Good Saturday morning SFers!
@Georgiagranny, Glad you're taking a PJ day to help knock the bugs from your system. I hope all goes well with your DGD's release and subsequent recovery. Did she have spinal surgery?

Today DD and one DS (and families) will spend the afternoon here and leave after dinner. We'll see the other DS in a couple of days. ❤️

So my answer to the thread's question of how am I today? Good, very good. Thanks for asking!!!

Have a swell day, my friends!
