How are you today?

It's freaking HOT today! High of 98 F, at 94 right now.
This is supposed to be the last hottest day, then beginning to drop again.
Only 92 F the next 2 days. I get grouchy in this weather recently.
I cant' help but think is winter going to be single digits so we wish it were 90's again?
So if I read a post that hits me wrong, I will just go on by, I promise.
Then come back and read it again when this weather breaks (y)
I am well aware of my weaknesses. ✌️

Right there with ya. I'm in the Mid-Atlantic Region and it's currently 90F/32.C at 16:40. It was downright hot on the afternoon dog walk. Bleh.

I'm fine-r than yesterday, thank all that is holy.

@Trish Happy over a new iron. Hm. I'd be happy if I never had to use one again. LOL

DGD came through her second spinal surgery okay. The first one was Monday. Doc told DD that the recovery is going to be long and arduous :( . Don't know yet when physical therapy will start.

The flowers await their morning drink, and the garden is getting miffed that it's been pretty much neglected in the past week or so. Therefore...we know where I'll be for a while this morning.
Glad your GDs surgery went alright. Sounds like a rough type.
I saw your friend Clarence today and picked up a Arizona Red Blanket flower. When we went to pay DH said it was clearance. The clerk said, "Yeah, I can tell". 😆 It will be a beauty.....next year.

DGD coming home tomorrow. @hearlady It was two spinal surgeries, one on Monday and the other on Thursday. I don't understand the whys and wherefores, but there was a reason for it. Might have something to do with the steel rods already in her spine from when her scoliosis was corrected 13 years ago🤷‍♀️.

I'm finally feeling a tad better. DD brought me Claritin to stop the runny nose and watery eyes. It's supposed to take about 3 hours to kick in, and we're right at 3 hours. Yay. I felt enough better that I even ate a grilled cheese sandwich and might have some gelato tonight.

Haven't been out of the house since Tuesday. Clarence is probably wondering what's become of me.

Two? Oh my goodness! I hope she recovers well.

This morning has been a brighter day than recently, no rain yet but it is windy. Looking at the weather forecast for the week, we are in for lots more rain so, I want to make the most of today,

To add to the excitement of my new iron, I am expecting delivery of a new ironing board tomorrow. I also ordered a new bag - cross-body style - it will look nice with my favourite, chocolate coloured, winter coat. The weather is getting much cooler so, my mind is thinking of putting away summer things and getting out the autumn stuff.

Have a good week everyone :)

Before retirement we had an ironing fairy, but nowadays I do the ironing. Do you use a sleeve board Trish? It's perfect not only for sleeves but getting the yoke pressed is a lot easier with a sleeve board.

Wet and windy up here in my neck of the woods. Going to be a fun day... the wind keeps rattling the letterbox flap which starts my furry friend off barking. I'll wait until after the postie has been then I'll tape it down.

Other than that, I'm fine but won't be venturing far in this weather. Normally I'd take the dog round the park but not today! Maybe round the block but I'm not even certain about that.

I've been doing similar to you @Trish, put away summer tops and replaced with warmer clothing.

I think I'm fine, thanks for asking. Better than yesterday! I was awake around 4:30, but considering that I went to bed about 7:30, that's no surprise.

Ladies! How I envy you getting out your warmer clothes. It's hot here and supposed to get hotter all week long. I can't remember the last time we saw a drop of rain. Sigh.

@Trish...yabbut...will your new crossbody bag complement your new iron and ironing board? Will you have to get a new ironing board cover so that they don't clash?:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

AFAIK, DGD is still supposed to come home today. Fingers crossed.

And even more excitement: the plumber is coming today to replace the bathroom vanity faucet and to do the roto-rooter thing with the shower drain. DSIL gave it a try a while back but apparently didn't get it all. I think the snake thingie wasn't long enough to reach the entire problem.

@Pam The scoliosis problem was corrected when she was 12 or 13. She has steel rods in her spine. This surgery was to fuse discs at the base of her spine. I don't know whether the disc problem was something that existed at the time of that surgery or if it was something that occurred since then.

I'm feeling sort of productive this morning. So far I've cleaned Maggiecat's litter box, had a shower and gotten dressed. It's progress from the past couple of days. The bed might even get made. And I'm craving comfort food. Like tuna casserole, which only DD and I like. DGD doesn't like tuna. DSIL doesn't like peas. Can't make tuna casserole without peas and certainly not without tuna. If I'm still feeling better this afternoon, I'm gonna make it anyway.

And I'm gonna water the garden. It's only about 30 minutes from full daylight. If I still feel okay in 30 minutes...the garden it is!

Had a lovely evening with DD's family last night - DS's had a change of plans so didn't come, but we'd seen them several times this past week so it wasn't a big deal.

DD makes lovely cakes, and brought everyone's favorite last night: chocolate/chocolate chip with chocolate frosting. About an hour before dinner I asked to do dessert first because that much sugar and caffeine messes with my sleep. She plated me a "small" slice, but I cut about 2/3 off it and slid the larger section back on the platter. Despite all that, my sleep was uneven.

In some ways the Rolling Stones had it right when they sang, "What a drag it is, getting old."
