A good day, so far. Call with my GYN about my HRT was productive. Morning dog walk, exercises and AIMs (Affirmations, Meditations and Incantations) all went well. Ha. I feel like I'm doing a systems check in a cock pit.

Good morning! The clock is sliding up toward noon so I'm getting in just under the wire. Had a busy morning. Made a business delivery, picked up a grocery order, hit a different store for some Asian veggies, then stopped at the library to drop off three books and pick up one. All before breakfast, but not before coffee. I'd already drank one cup and the second one was in a travel mug.

Errands done and I'm enjoying a brunchy stir-fry. Not a lot on my agenda. May invoice today's delivery, may put it off until tomorrow. Whatevs...

I had a couple of annoying upsets today and just couldn't get myself to settle down so
I took up pen and paper and 'doodled '

That is what I do . Goes back to my school days.
It calms me down and I get a laugh at some of my efforts.
Some of you know about my missing thumb and nerve damage
and when it is bothering me I get some great doodles and some relief.

Weird eh!!...... at 92 and still doodlin'

I don't think so at all. Love the rain! Rainy, cloudy, windy days are the best.

My daughter loves rainy days too! She is a Pisces, and being a water sign I guess it makes sense.
A few days back we had a long hard steady rain here, have to admit it was relaxing. Where I am in the house I hardly hear the rain. But I did that day. It was kind of nice.

Oh I know how that is! Be careful and maybe use the vacuum cleaner hose attachment to get it all up. I dropped the glass blender some years back.

Suzy came running almost into the kitchen where I was. I yelled for her to get out of there. I didn't want her to get glass in her paws!

I had one in my finger for a few years. When I was maybe 20, I worked in a Body Shop and a car came in that had been hit in the side. I swept the glass out of the interior first, while doing so I got a sliver in my finger. I tried but couldn't remove it. It broke off... had a hard skin area grow around it. A few years later, I was washing dishes and it came out. I didn't feel it but it was gone.

Similar to me. I had a splinter in my finger which I couldn't get out. Ages later, I remembered one of my mum's old remedies and I poured some very warm water into a bowl, added salt and soaked my finger in it and, the splinter magically appeared to slip out all by itself.

It is coming up to 9 am here. I woke up at 6 am and have been drinking coffee, checking emails and reading some of the posts here. Earlier it was a bit chilly but the heating is on and it's nice and cosy, we also have sunshine.

We have no plan for today so, probably a walk later, nip to the Bank and the shops, maybe have a coffee somewhere along the line and then head home.

So far, so... okay. I woke at 5A, which is way, way too early for me.

I'm anticipating, however, that it is going to be a good day.

My daughter loves rainy days too! She is a Pisces, and being a water sign I guess it makes sense.

It is a lovely sound. Agreed. The only one I like better is a storm or the sound of ocean waves. Ocean waves wins, but rain, wind and storms are close - well a close group of seconds.

When I woke up for the usual potty break in the wee hours, the idea of steak soup crept into my pointed little head. We haven't had steak soup in so many years, that I couldn't remember how to make it except that it takes 2 lbs of meat. Looked up the price of chuck steak. Um. $8.99/lb? Whoa! Not likely that we'll be having steak soup. Top round at Aldi is $7.37/lb but that's for 9/10th of a lb. Who weighs meat by a tenth of a pound?

But, geez, it's cold and dreary. Steak soup with homemade bread sure does sound good. It might have to be stone soup if the neighbors would just contribute. LOL

DD got on the Buy Nothing page on FB asking if there's someone who will lose SNAP benefits at the end of the week and to DM her. She got a hit from a lady with six kids who moved to our area only recently. Her DH got a job but it doesn't pay much, and they've already used up what they had left for this month.

She said she shops at Aldi so DD asked for a list...then had a better idea and asked her to meet us over there, and we gave her a $100 gift card instead so that she could do her own shopping.

Also gave her two big bags of Hallowe'en candy for trick or treaters on Friday night. Dang! Candy is expensive!

The "lady" couldn't have been more than 30. Says she does all her cooking from scratch to make groceries stretch.

When we shop every week, I get a $10 gift card and give it to the cashier for the next person in line who uses SNAP. Now that SNAP is gone, at least for now, can't do it because there's no way to know who gets benefits
