How are you today?

It's been a busy week. The weather has been cloudy, some rain but mild. The windows are open and we have just been out for a long walk.

Seem to have lots of things happening next week but, in the meantime, I am looking forward to a restful weekend. :)

It's a pretty day out, which makes for nice walks.

Husband is working the afternoon to evening shift today so, I likely won't see him until tomorrow morning for coffee, since I go to bed fairly early.

Boyfriend is in London visiting family so our communication will be limited for the next several days. I hate it when he's away; messes with the rhythm of my life. That and I just plain miss him.

It is, however, a good time to watch movies I know he wouldn't care for. Ooo, maybe I'll watch that Thanksgiving horror where it looked like a monster was prepping someone for a feast. - Eh... well... Something, away.

I could catch up on my blog, I suppose.

Hoping everyone is feeling good and has a nice day.
Good Thanksgiving day movie....

DD passed an Aldi on her way home. She stopped, of course, and brought me cherry Stollen, Lebkuchenherzen and Pfeffernusse. Guess I'll skip supper. Cake, cookies, gelato sounds like a balanced diet to me.
Yes, that is my preferred balanced diet! I didn't know they had Stollen out already. I can eat my weight in that quite easily. I prefer the kind with marzipan, and my stepdaughter prefers the cherry.

I'm up but not quite at 'em yet. It's too early to know how I am, but it's looking good so far.

There are still things that need doing in the garden. I dunno if I feel like doiing it. I'm kinda burned out on the garden. By January I'll be whining about how long spring is taking to get here!

@WheatenLover I think it depends on the store. On Wednesday we were in the one we usually go to, and they didn't have the cookies or stollen. They were also out of the sweet potato casserole but had it at the store she went to yesterday.

@hawkdon I hear you on this. There are more and more days when I feel the same way and feel like if I pretend everything is all tickety-boo, then it will be.

The sun is out. It's still warm for today and maybe tomorrow, but it's one of those days when I'm exhausted just from pretending. Today is one of them.

DD and I have been trying to do a good deed daily for someone in need. All it has really done is make me feel guilty that I haven't done more.

This day is going better this afternoon than it was this morning, so I'll take that. Right direction and all. I had to take migraine med twice, but the second one seems to have worked. My body hurts a lot today, but it is what it is. I'm not ready to start the meds for that and would like to put it off as a long as possible.

My poor husband ate a too-ripe mango the day before yesterday and spent yesterday so unwell he wasn't off the couch much. He's better today but so sore in body he took the day off work, which is unusual for him. Son and I have got the dog walks so there's nothing he needs to do today, but rest and recover.

I took the day off yesterday, from exercise, etc., and ate junk food. Meh. Actually, I feel better when I do all my "things" and don't try to live on junk food. There's no food in that "food." lol

Boyfriend is still in London and will be for a few more days. I'm happy for him to be having a good time with family, but I do miss him a lot.

Sheesh, I'm chatty this afternoon.

Wishing everyone a nice Saturday.

I’m going to have a grizzle ….its cold ….its struggling to get to …16c ~59 F …that’s a Mild winter day temp ( for us) and it’s 2 months into spring …
here in Australia it normally tuns cold around Easter time ….well this year it turned cold well before Easter ….
so we’ve had getting onto ….7 months of winter …..freezing winds

I feel better now I’ve had a grizzle ….we've had an odd day where it’s been sunny in the afternoon …

Never mind I suppose next we will be complaining about the heat of summer …

We are getting into the festive spirit with our dancing …got 4 functions coming up in the next 2 weeks + plus just our normal dancing days ..plus a family get together at a restaurant ( I don’t cook for family gatherings anymore )
We will be away interstate for / Christmas / new year so fitting in family gathering before we leave in mid Dec

Thanks. AI tried to tell me it was a misspelling of gizzard chicken.
It’s got quite a few meanings ….including this bit USER=9299]@Jules[/USER]

In Australian slang, "grizzle" is a verb that means
to complain or whine, especially in an irritating, low-level way, similar to the more common term "whinge". It can also refer to being streaked with gray hair, and was once a common phrase used by parents to children who were sulking.
  • Meaning: To complain, whine, or fret, particularly when a sound is irritating and continuous.
  • Example: "Stop grizzling and tell me what's wrong".

I’ve been a member / here ~ on and off since 2014 ,
When I first joined I think there may have been one other Aussie ..

It was the very first forum I’d ever joined apart from a recipe site that had ~ a very small forum about cooking

Anyway I mainly played the games , however some questioned my spelling and meaning of words ( on here )

which is natural …quite OK after all we are from all over the world 🌍….. Example …. I spell ….Tyers …on the forum
no we don’t spell those things on cars Tires ..… that means ….Tired …Tiring in Aussie land and many other words are spelt different @Jules and then theres ~ Aussie Slang :):)
