How are you today?

Our temps here today are dangerously cold and we're to get 6-10 inches of snow. I am staying over in the sleep room at work til Sunday night. Will see about coming home then. Hopefully because I don't wanna spend my birthday at work. LOL!

Otherwise doing ok except for the arthritis in my hands. I packed some stuff in my back pack to take with me to work for my stay. Hate this weather. I stay over because I have no car and if the snow is deep enough it's nearly impossible to get down my street.

It's very cold here in the Mid-Atlantic and we are expecting the snow to start tonight. I'm bundling up as much as possible for the Lucius walks, but my gear seems to be finding its limits in this cold.

We have the pocket hand warmers and Toastie toes; I should probably break those out.

It's a very quiet afternoon for me; husband is working a mid shift and boyfriend is at a party this afternoon. Someone in the complex where he lives is having a birthday.

So, I'm left to play Animal Crossing, sip some lovely Earl Grey and maybe watch.... Archer? I'm several seasons behind on that one.

I have one more Lucius walk at 4:15pm and then son will take the next one and husband will take the one after that, if necessary. Lucius doesn't have a yard so, he gets walked a lot.

Hoping everyone is, and stays safe and warm. :)

It's been a lovely springlike day today although it started to spit rain and get colder this evening. Lovely while it lasted but, apparently, we now have several days of rain again. Mind you, reading about the storms, snow and icy weather conditions that some of you are facing, I am not going to complain! I hope you can all stay warm and safe until things improve 🤗

I fitfully slept through a raging cyclonic storm - sounds quieter now outside must investigate once dawn breaks- have a 40ft boab tree as a neighbour six feet away outside - head no crashes through the night?

DH & spent the morning helping our GD and daughter sort our Girl Scout cookies. DD chairs the troop's cookie drive so we lend a hand wrangling the 250 cases of cookies (3000 boxes) she and DH picked up from the GS cookie depot this morning.

The rest of the day will be a relaxed one for me.
I have been Troop Leader for my (then) girls' troops and Cookie Chairman. I know what a huge job that is! Bless you!

Why, yes, I did have leftover meatloaf, mac & cheese and roasted cauliflower for breakfast. Why do you ask?;) It was in the fridge, and I was hungry. Where is it written that we can only eat breakfast food in the morning?

Debating whether or not to get dressed. It's not like I'm going anywhere today.

Washed up some dishes. Next up is vacuuming the litter that Maggiecat scatters all over the place. I mean, it needs to be done so that she can scatter more.

Glad the weather isn't slamming this part of the country.

Doing a little cooking today, but not for future meals — my freezers are still slammajammed with leftover Christmas cookies. Got some stuffed mushrooms in the toaster oven that are a dry run for bringing some to my book club meeting this week.

Other than that it will be a do-nothing Sunday. ❤️

My GD's are gathering orders. I still have some in the freezer so I donated to the troops this year.

I just read that today is National Bubble Wrap Day. It's when we're supposed to have fun popping the bubbles. Huh? How to we use it after the bubbles are popped?
Bubble Wrap...One night, in the ICU, I had a patient that was constantly on the call light. Not for anything important; I think she just wanted attention. I was kept very busy with the other patient who was in critical condition.

Certain medications were sent to us from the pharmacy via a vacuum tube system (like the drive up window at your bank). It would come wrapped in bubble wrap. That night, I was standing at the desk popping the bubble wrap and realized how calming it was. I took a sheet of it into the anxious patient and told her, "Here, try this." It worked! It was another 30 minutes before she pushed that call light button again.

@GoodEnuff, your bubble wrap story reminded me of this:

My mom was in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) after a broken hip. She had vascular dementia so found the SNF experience especially disorienting and agitated her.

One of the CNAs noticed and brought her a stack of cloth napkins and asked her to fold them. Whenever that CNA or another one walked into her room they'd remove the stack Mom had folded, close the curtain and shake them out, then put them back on her bed to fold again.

Mom's muscle memory took over with the napkins. She found the process very calming. Bless those SNF employees for their kindness and understanding.

well, dang

my daughter (in N. GA with ice everywhere) texted me this AM to say she fell on the ice and she thinks she fractured her leg She was an ER nurse for years, so she's doing everything she can at home since the roads are still pretty much impassible and urgent care is closed. No electricity at this time but they have heat.

She hopes to get to an orthopedic MD tomorrow... time will tell if I am making a trip north this week to help with the girls or not.

Did I pray for patience or to have my character built up? Lol...

I know she's a resourceful, strong woman and will be ok. It's just hard to be so far and not be able to help

That's just it...you don't reuse it. You pop the bubbles for stress relief and if you need more you buy more. I love bubble wrap. If I come across boxes at work with it I snatch it. LOL!
