When I was a kid, my favorite kind of popsicle was a Creamsicle. Smooshing vanilla ice cream with sherbet or sorbet brings me back to those days.

babying my left hand and icing it to try to bring the swelling down. waiting to see what the weather will do today. supposed to get storms today and friday. thursday when i get back from the hardware store i gotta call this gal i used to work with. we haven't talked in a while. will likely be another 2 hr discussion.

Yep. Both husband and I have very fond memories of orange creamcicles.

It hadn't occurred though, to moosh vanilla ice cream and sherbet. Awesome idea!

Exactly. In my case, I partly thaw vegan vanilla ice cream and sorbets (which are already dairy free), put a couple of scoops of both in a big bowl, swirl them together, then refreeze.

My digestive system gets very annoyed by cow milk products, thus the vegan ice cream and sorbet.

I do both. I've made many thousands of all manner of ice cream sandwiches over the past 40 years, so using dairy free ice cream for them wasn't a stretch.

Problem is, most DF ice creams don't have high quality ice cream's silky texture. DF ice creams heavily based on coconut cream don't float my boat because the coconut flavor often trumps everything else so I use other DF ice creams.

I willingly surrender ice cream's silkiness for the bigger flavor hit the sorbet brings to the mix.

I told my daughter about your ice cream/sherbet combo and she mentioned her friend made a sherbet with 3 items - frozen strawberries, honey and juice of 3 lemons. Put in blender and froze. She had no measurements for me.
