How are you today?

It rained all day without stopping. We needed rain, but not all at once, but it's okay, long as there was no hail (there wasn't).

I paid some bills, then closed the monthly budget since is the last day of April, and came out "over" (more SS income than payouts) which is most rare. So, not a bad day.

Had the office to myself today, and while I dearly love my husband... it is kind of nice to have a quiet day - pretty much alone.

Had a few walk-in customers that I can't help - since I don't know a thing about shower doors. I explain, I just pay the bills and offer to show them some samples, then take their info and pass it on to DH.

I'm going to pull the plug and apply for my SS @ 63 (in July). I know I'll get less that way, but with my increasing health issues - I just want to work less and less.

Warmest Wishes to everyone! :)

Hares and white rabbits! My mother used to say that on the first of each month - it is said to bring good luck 🐰🐇

It has just gone 9.30 am and, so far, it has been a lovely sunny morning. Today I have plans to go out. I will probably meet up with a friend later, provided she isn't kept waiting too long. I am looking for some new summer trousers for mum, she likes elasticated waists.

Monday is a Bank Holiday and rain is forecast - typical!

Have a good day :)

What have I accomplished so far
Made my Derby choices
laughed a lot
gave quite a few hugs
downed 2 cups of coffee
made my bed
got Myer to go out once
posted some song/songs
made my foot go to sleep from crossing legs too long
laughed some more thanks to Tim
read some posts that made me think - thinking is a good thing before the day chaos comes
now, it's the waiting time to rev up the mower and get myself outside.
Didn't accomplish World Peace except in my lil corner of it.
The day looks good!

May Day. Remember when it was a thing? A May pole with ribbons and girls in white dresses, each with a ribbon, dancing around a May pole. That went by the wayside long ago.

When I was in elementary school, we'd weave little baskets from folded pieces of construction paper and gather flowers to put in them. IIRC, it was part of our art class. We'd either take the baskets home to our mothers, or hang them on the door of a friend or neighbor that we really liked, ring the bell and run away.

Whatever happened to being nice?

Good morning all and Happy May 1st! May Day. Hmmm...

I never understood the whole May Day thing. Even as a small child, dressing up to do the over-under maypole ribbon dance struck me as a weirdly superstitious throwback to the Middle Ages. Kinda creeped me out, to be honest.

Since we grew up 3000 miles apart, I just asked DH this morning if his schools did May Day celebrations. He made a sour face and said, "Yeah. I always thought it was kinda stupid. Plus it meant we couldn't play tether-ball that day because of the ribbons."

As you can see, we're well suited for one another. ❤️ :ROFLMAO:

The only time I ever heard of it was one teacher in elementary school mentioned it.
We (kids) never did anything to celebrate/observe it.

May Day and the May pole dance have something to do with spring and fertility and such. I guess I could Google it but don't feel like it.

@Trish The box isn't invisible, silly! Just the cloak.

I planted 10 pentas and a yellow mandevilla. I'm tired.

I think I got a HEX on me !!! I got up just a little sore and cranky,
then my left eye went wonky and giving me fits, then I drop every other
thing I pick up, and I jusr really don't give a fig about anything!!!!

I had thought about starting a thread called "What have you dropped today?" but I thought better of it. For example I cant seem to get through my medications without knocking at least a couple on the floor.

Dr appt this morning for follow up and hopefully done with all that.
Quick stop for the ant stuff and be done with that issue also.
Day of getting problems over and done in more ways than one.
Slipping into my Wonder Woman outfit to face the day!
See you all a bit later! ;)
Oh, that must have been you, in flight past my window, earlier today. 😄
Inspirational. You were.
☺️
