I used to like to go whitewater rafting back in the '90s. I liked it so much that I bought my own raft. I'd rent a rowing frame and take people down the rivers in Colorado... Browns Canyon and the Royal Gorge. I also went on some guided rafting trips before I got my own raft.
The rivers in Colorado are really crowded now because of all the growth the state has experienced in the past 25 years, which must take some of the fun out of it. I hear they're so overrun with people and rafts that now you have to wait in line to launch your raft. I haven't gone since the '90s.
I also used to love to ski, but my knees can't handle it any more. I'd get vertigo on the chairlift sometimes, but found ways to deal with it such as not looking down. I'm generally not good with heights unless I'm in an enclosure of some sort, although I did roofing work when I was young and just dealt with the fear. I never did get over it, though.
